Registration for the AMT Smart Destinations Awards fourth edition is open

Entries for the AMT Smart Destinations Awards next edition can be registered from 17th March to 14th April 2021.

On 20th May 2021, the Hotel Technology Institute (IHT) will present the AMT Smart Destinations Awards, during FITUR's Tourism Recovery Special.

On 20th May 2021, during the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) Tourism Recovery Special, the Hotel Technology Institute (IHT) will present the AMT Smart Destinations Awards. This year, the Hotel Technology Institute (IHT) and the Alliance of Sun and Beach Tourist Municipalities (AMT) are organising the fourth edition of the AMT Smart Destinations Awards. The awards will include special categories for solutions that are helping to restart business and promote tourism in the current situation.

The registration period for the awards opens on 17th March 2021 and closes on 14th April. Entries can be registered online at the website: www.ithotelero.com/fiturtechy/ith-smart-destinations-awards/.

Only the three finalists in each category will have the opportunity to present their solutions at the #techYdestino forum at FITURTECHY, a space dedicated to innovation and technology in destinations, during the FITUR international tourism fair. The AMT Smart Destinations Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 20th May during the afternoon session, closing the day with the announcement of the winning entry in each category.

The three finalist solutions in each category will be announced in May, before FITURTECHY begins. They will be included in an online catalogue of technology solutions submitted to the Alliance of Sun and Beach Tourist Municipalities (AMT).

Technology solutions and Tools can enter in five different categories:

  • Governance & Public Management
  • Interaction With Tourists & Residents
  • Accessibility
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Destination Promotion & Marketing
  •  

The members of the jury for the AMT Smart Destinations Awards will include representatives of the Alliance of Sun and Beach Tourism Municipalities (AMT): The town councils of Salou, Lloret de Mar, Calviá, Torremolinos, Benidorm, Adeje, Arona and San Bartolomé de Tirajana, as well as a group of professional specialists from the hotel sector and the Spanish tourism industry, from Invat·tur, Segittur, Fitur, ITH and Thinktur.

The winners of the 2020 edition were: Travelest, in the Interaction With Tourists & Residents category, Envirosuite that won the award for the best tool in the Sustainability category, and the Yarr TV #SocialDestination Platform in the Promotion & Marketing category. Tecnalia and the Guipuzkoa Local Government (DFG) were awarded in the Governance & Public Management category, and the award in the Accessibility category went to ILUNION Hotels.
