FITUR 2027 to be held from 20 to 24 January with Puerto Rico as Partner Country
The International Tourism Fair reaffirms its commitment to tourism competitiveness and sustainability with a second edition of the Knowledge Hub.
The 47th edition of FITUR will have two additional halls and will boost the global tourism market as the leading trade fair for both outbound and inbound markets worldwide.
FITUR, the International Tourism Trade Fair, is once again organising the global tourism market from 20 to 24 January 2027 at IFEMA MADRID, in a context of continuous growth in the industry and with UN Tourism forecasting that international tourism will grow by between 3% and 4% compared to 2025, a year in which the number of international arrivals exceeded 1.5 billion worldwide.
Within this framework, and with Puerto Rico as a Partner Country, FITUR 2027 is expanding and will occupy two more halls than at its previous edition, making Madrid the epicentre of tourism industry business and progress and announces a second edition of the Knowledge Hub, renewing its vocation to contribute to the competitiveness and sustainability of the tourism industry.
Over the course of the professional days -Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 January- experts from all over the world will debate the present and future of tourism, share best practices, present the latest technological tools available to companies and professionals and close strategic commercial agreements for business development. At the weekend, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January, FITUR will become the great tourism festival and open its doors to the end traveller.
FITUR 2027 continues its commitment to specialisation
The trade fair, which will occupy a total of eleven halls, will be distributed by the different geographical areas of the world -Europe, America, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Spain- as well as an area dedicated to tourism companies from all over the world and a Travel Technology monographic space, which in the 2026 edition grew by 50%.
In its 47th edition, FITUR continues to move towards specialisation as a way of helping to promote the different sectors that make the tourism scenario more diverse and sustainable and that boost the event’s conference activity.
FITUR 2027 announces that it will once again be hosting the sections: FITUR 4ALL, devoted to accessible tourism; FITUR Cruises, which reinforces the projection of sustainable blue tourism; FITUR Experience, in its second edition, will be focusing on experiential tourism as a primary driver of growth; FITUR LGTB+ and it’s commitment to diversity; FITUR Lingua and the potential of language tourism; FITUR Know-How & Export, which fosters the potential of Spanish tourism businesses; FITUR Screen, which explores the territorial possibilities of linking the film industry to tourism; FITUR Sports, connecting the tourism and sports industries; FITUR Talent, which approaches the challenges of talent in the industry; FITUR TechY, with debates on technological challenges; and FITUR Woman, which showcases female talent. These specialised areas are complemented by the FITURNEXT Sustainability Observatory.
At its last edition, held in January 2026,FITUR attracted 255,000 visitors and more than 10,000 companies from 161 countries, 111 of which were officially represented, with an impact on Madrid's economy of 505 million euros.
