FITUR, in collaboration with IMPULSA IGUALDAD, hosted the second edition of FITUR 4all, an initiative dedicated to enhancing quality, diversity, and inclusion in the global tourism industry. This space focused on the latest trends and best practices in accessible tourism, highlighting a commitment to social sustainability, the innovative use of technology and data, and the optimization of the accessible tourism value chain. FITUR 4all aims to raise awareness and promote truly inclusive tourism, adapted to the needs of all travelers, contributing to the development of more accessible, responsible, and competitive destinations.

The event was complemented by the FITUR 4all Awards ceremony and the presentation of the first-ever Guide to Best Practices in Accessible Tourism by FITUR 4all.

What are the FITUR 4all Awards?

Organised by IMPULSA IGUALDAD in collaboration with FITUR, they aim to give visibility, thank and encourage commitment to the development and promotion of inclusive tourism and are aimed at national and international destinations, companies, and organisations and institutions in the tourism sector.

The FITUR 4all Awards, organized by IMPULSA IGUALDAD in collaboration with FITUR, annually recognize outstanding efforts in the development and promotion of accessibility in the tourism sector. Its objective is to raise visibility, recognize and encourage commitment to the development and promotion of inclusive tourism and is aimed at national and international destinations, companies, and organizations or institutions in the tourism sector, 

As part of its ongoing commitment to accessible tourism, FITUR 4all 2026 will continue the second edition publication of the ‘Best Practices Guide in Accessible Tourism by FITUR 4all’. This new edition reaffirms the long-term vision and strategic value of the guide as a benchmark in the sector. It seeks to highlight accessible tourism projects implemented during 2024 and 2025 that stand out for their innovation, potential, positive impact, consistency, replicability, and sustainability. By showcasing exemplary and replicable initiatives, the guide aims to promote tourism as a universal right and inspire destinations, businesses, and organizations to adopt inclusive and accessible practices.

The guide is the result of a shared commitment between IMPULSA IGUALDAD and FITUR to highlight initiatives that promote inclusion and ease access to tourist destinations for all, thereby promoting a sector that is more inclusive and aware of the diversity of its users. In accordance with the objectives of sustainability, the guide will be published online during the month of January 2025 and will be accessible to everyone.

Participation in the II Best Practices Guide in Accessible Tourism by FITUR 4all is linked to the third call for FITUR 4all Awards. The information will be collected following the same structure as the awards and will focus on outstanding projects in national destinations, international destinations, companies, and tourism-related organizations and institutions. Inclusion in the Guide is optional and not a prerequisite to winning the awards. Therefore, explicit confirmation from participants wishing to be included will be required. The same jury evaluating the awards will decide which projects are included in the guide, ensuring the quality, relevance, and innovation of the best practices in accessible tourism.

AWARD CATEGORIES:

The FITUR 4all 2026 Awards will be given in the following categories:

Inclusive National Destination: Awarded to the Spanish destination that has stood out for its accessible tourism development project and its impact on the adoption and promotion of inclusivity in tourism. The criteria for the evaluation of the nominations are:

  • Innovation in the design and implementation of the accessible tourism project presented.
  • Potential of the project and the measures adopted to facilitate the inclusion and accessibility of the destination.
  • Positive impact of the project and measures based on the reach and visibility of accessibility promotion in the tourism sector.
  • Consistency and sustainability of the project and measures, as part of a long-term strategy for accessibility and inclusion.

Inclusive International Destination: Awarded to the international destination that has stood out for its accessible tourism development project and its impact on the adoption and promotion of inclusivity in tourism.

The criteria for the evaluation of the nominations are:

  • Innovation in design and implementation of the accessible tourism project presented.
  • Potential of the project and adopted measures to foster inclusion and accessibility at the destination.
  • Positive impact of the project and its measures based on the reach and visibility of accessibility promotion in the tourism sector.
  • Consistency and sustainability of the project and measures, as part of a long-term strategy for accessibility and inclusion.

Inclusive tourism company: Awarded to a tourism company that has developed a remarkable project in the field of accessibility, with a positive impact on the inclusion of people with accessibility needs, through improved accessibility in its services and/or products.

The criteria for the evaluation of the candidatures are:

  • Potential of the project and adopted measures to contribute to inclusive tourism, based on the reach and effectiveness of accessibility improvements in offered services and products.
  • Positive impact of the project and its measures based on the reach and visibility of accessibility promotion in the tourism sector.
  • Consistency and sustainability of adopted measures as part of the company’s long-term strategy for accessibility and inclusion.

Inclusive Organization or Institution: Awarded to an organization or institution that has significantly contributed to the development of accessible tourism, positively promoting equality in tourism. Initiatives fostering collaboration, awareness-raising, and the implementation of inclusive tourism policies will be recognized.

The criteria for the evaluation of the candidatures are:

  • Breadth of the initiatives, either by covering a wide range of impact or by involving collaboration agreements with various destinations, companies, and institutions for accessibility development.
  • Sectoral and social awareness raised by the organization’s or institution’s actions, thanks to their motivational, exemplary, and/or educational nature in promoting inclusion.

Requirements for submitting candidatures:

  • The submitting entity must be an exhibitor, co-exhibitor, or collaborating entity at FITUR 2026.
  • Applications must be submitted before December 5, 2025, by completing the official online form (linked in the announcement) and providing all required supporting documentation.

 

Jury's decision:

A jury composed of experts in tourism, accessibility, and inclusion will evaluate the submissions in each category based on the criteria described above.

The jury’s decision will be made public prior to FITUR 2026, and winners will be notified in advance of the award ceremony.

The jury reserves the right to declare any category void or to name multiple winners in any category, as deemed appropriate. The jury’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.

Seal: In addition to the physical trophy, winners will receive a seal identifying them as recipients of the FITUR 4all Award 2026, which may be used across their physical and digital media as desired.
