La Rioja Holds Numerous Business Meetings at FITUR

La Rioja has participated in FITUR 2021 with a feeling “of hope and optimism for the revival of the tourism sector, for being able to show visitors all our region’s attractions as a safe tourist destination,” says the Managing Director of Tourism, Ramiro Gil. They also held numerous business meetings with sales agents and tour operators, both specialised and generalist. In addition, they participated in thirty meetings at FITUR MICE and sixteen meetings on FITUR LIVEConnect. La Rioja’s stand was one of those most popular, with visits by different personalities, trade visitors, industry representatives, the general public and the media. They attended to a total of 196 people.

Over five days, the La Rioja stand has hosted numerous activities to show this region’s possibilities as a destination “for everyone, with comprehensive guides for enjoying tourism and holidays to satisfy the needs of all visitors, regardless of where they’re from.” A diversity of attractions, covering culture, food, wine, landscapes, archaeology, nature, sports activities or and active tourism, film or festivals. These and other attractions were on display under the slogan Reserva (as in wine), suggesting a return to ‘the little things that can still delight us’.

Institutional Visits and Professional Meetings

During the three trade visitor days, the La Rioja stand hosted business meetings and received numerous institutional visits: Spain’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Reyes Maroto; the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, who met with the Councillor for Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World, Territory and Population, Eva Hita; the region’s Minister for Development, José Ángel Lacalzada, and Regional Minister for Sustainability and Ecological Transition, Álex Dorado Nájera, and others.

The staff attended to 196 people, 90% of them from Spain and 10% from abroad. Also, 511 digital and 150 print brochures have been sent.
