FITUR LGTB+ 2027 is cementing its role as an international meeting point for inclusive and diverse tourism
Organised by FITUR in collaboration with JN Global Project, the event will once again bring together destinations, companies and industry professionals to promote one of the most dynamic segments of the tourism industry.
FITUR, the International Tourism Trade Fair organised by IFEMA MADRID, is to host a new edition of FITUR LGTB+ 2027, the global benchmark for the promotion, analysis and development of inclusive tourism aimed at the LGBT+ community, which has established itself as one of the most dynamic, profitable and influential segments of the global tourism industry.
FITUR LGTB+, now in its 17th year, has become a strategic forum for tourist destinations, companies, associations and professionals working to promote a tourism offering based on the principles of diversity, respect, equality and inclusion. At FITUR 2027, from 20 to 24 January, the section will once again offer a comprehensive programme of content and B2B meetings aimed at identifying trends, generating business opportunities and sharing best practices to help build destinations that are more open and competitive.
In collaboration with JN Global Project, the FITUR LGTB+ event, held under the slogan ‘Connecting people, creating opportunities’, reflects the growing importance of this market on an international scale. According to the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA), LGBTQ+ tourism has become established as one of the segments with the highest spending power and customer loyalty, whilst also generating significant benefits for destinations that promote policies of inclusion and diversity. Furthermore, according to figures from the WTTC, this group accounts for an estimated expenditure of over 180,000 million euros a year, and is growing steadily at a rate of 10.3% annually.
Against this backdrop, FITUR LGTB+ reaffirms its commitment to promoting destinations and companies that champion diversity as a key distinguishing feature of their tourism offer. The section will also help to highlight new consumer trends, new travel experiences and tourism management models tailored to the expectations of travellers who are increasingly discerning, well-informed and committed to the values of inclusion and sustainability.
FITUR LGTB+ 2027 will once again bring together national and international destinations, tourism companies, hotel chains, tour operators, institutions and experts to analyse the sector’s challenges and opportunities, foster strategic partnerships and promote a more diverse, accessible and innovative tourism industry.
A weekend celebrating diversity
Over the weekend, the trade fair’s B2B programme will be open to the general public, on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January, with a whole host of leisure activities for all age groups, including cultural events, music and celebrations to be enjoyed in an inclusive and festive atmosphere. These activities seek to bring the values of diversity and coexistence closer to citizens, beyond the professional sphere.
With this new edition, FITUR reaffirms its commitment to representing all key segments of the tourism industry and to creating spaces that foster the exchange of knowledge; the generation of business and the development of a form of tourism capable of reflecting the diversity of today’s society. FITUR LGTB+ 2027 will thus once again position itself as one of the most important international platforms for promoting inclusive and diverse tourism.
