Grupo Piñero, a Spanish tourism company with more than 40 years of experience, will be participating in this year’s FITUR trade show, taking place from 19 to 23 January at IFEMA MADRID. The company will bring its updated strategic plan for 2022-2025 to the International Tourism Trade Fair - a plan in keeping with its aim to continue creating exciting experiences while consolidating sustainability, together with sustainable growth and innovation as the main pillars of its strategy.

At this year’s trade fair, held under the banner ‘We embrace the world - we are tourism’, Grupo Piñero will present this year’s new developments in its different business divisions, with the spotlight falling on the reform and reconceptualisation of its Cayo Levantado Resort project.

Meanwhile, Soltour Travel Partners - the joint venture created by the strategic alliance between Grupo Piñero and Logitravel Group - will make its first appearance at the trade fair with its own stand in Hall 3 (Stand 3C05), where it will hold various workshops for trade professionals. On Friday 21 January, Encarna Piñero, CEO of Grupo Piñero, will take part in the debate ‘The leadership of the brave: the key to building and transforming companies in particularly difficult times’, alongside Ovidio Andrés, president of Smy Hotels, to address the role of entrepreneurs in the face of change.

Commitment to the sustainable management of the planet

The company’s environmental strategy will be the cornerstone of Grupo Piñero’s presence at the fair. As part of its continued drive to spread the news about ‘Somos Ecoístas’, visitors to the stand will have the chance to see it first hand and join in the initiative which calls on all of society to look to its more environmental side and take individual action so that, together, we can take care of the planet. With the aim of increasing the number of people who are part of the ‘Ecoista’ initiative, the company will launch a prize draw (‘El viajero ecoísta’) on its Instagram profile @somosecoistas. There will also be contributions from various influencers who will join and amplify the action, with the aim of bringing ‘Somos Ecoístas’ to every community. Participants in the draw will have a chance to win a trip for two to Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort, where they can enjoy a 100% ‘ecoist’ experience.

Sustainability has also been the inspiration for the stand’s concept and design. Grupo Piñero’s space - located in Hall 3 at Stand 3C03 - is based on two fundamental pillars: people and the planet. The idea of respect for and sustainable management of natural resources is reflected in its Integrated Management Plan for the Litoral, while all of this is developed with the aim of creating exciting and responsible customer experiences. These concepts are represented in this space by integrating designs featuring simple shapes and combining textures with neutral and delicate tones, while recalling the meaning that colours convey to us, where blue represents the water, brown the sand dune system and green the socio-economic environment.

A leading role in the tourism market

Grupo Piñero will also play a leading role in some of the events taking place as part of the trade fair. The company’s CEO, Encarna Piñero, will take part in the 11th Exceltur Tourism Leadership Forum, a precursor to the official opening of FITUR and a benchmark forum for the sector every year, which this year will be held under the banner ‘Rethinking tourism post covid: new challenges, new vistas’. Encarna Piñero will also take part in the session on ‘New challenges and policies for the evolution of the tourism model’, in which she will share her views with Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic, about the Caribbean country’s importance in the internationalisation of the Spanish tourism sector.
