FITUR 2020 Awards for the Best Stands and the Sustainable Stand Award Announced
The Best Stands Awards this year have been announced. Those of Euskadi Basque Country, the Valencia Region and Aragón were awarded in the Autonomous Regions and Institutions category. The stands of Korea Tourism Organisation, Senegalese Tourism Promotion Agency and the Costa Rica Tourism Institute in the Countries and Regions category. And those of Iberia, Meliá Hotels International and Paradores in the Business category, in which VP Hotels also received a special mention. On the other hand, the aex equo winners of the Sustainable Stand Award, a new category this year, went jointly to the Andalusia Hall and the Paradores stand.
The International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR 2020, has again highlighted the most outstanding participants in this edition, organised by IFEMA since last Wednesday, 22nd January at Feria de Madrid, through its Best Stands Competition. The jury for these awards today announced the names of the winners in the different categories.
In the category for Autonomous Regions and Institutions, the awards went to the stands by Euskadi Basque Country, Valencia Region, and Aragón.
In the Country and Regions category, the awards were for the Korea Tourism Organisation, the Senegalese Tourism Promotion Agency, and the Costa Rica Tourism Institute.
Finally, in the Companies category, the awards for the best stands at FITUR have been for Iberia, Meliá Hotels International and Paradores. In this section the jury also highlighted the VP Hotels stand.
The assessment criteria were, as usual, as follows: Professionalism, or how well the stand fulfils the marketing needs of its product; Communication/Promotion skills with regard to how well the stand identifies with image and product; and Design, especially highlighting the degree of originality and innovation. Also, this year Sustainability was another of the criteria followed in the assessment of all the stands.
Sustainable Stand Award
Indeed, the growing importance of sustainability for all FITUR exhibitors was also demonstrated by the “Sustainable Stand” Award, which the International Tourism Trade Fair is awarding this year for the first time, and which was aex equo for the Andalusia Hall and the Paradores stand.
This award is organised in partnership with the Institute for Responsible Tourism (ITR). It recognises and highlights the winning company’s effort to make its presence at FITUR environment-friendly and climate change aware, to help foster social and cultural aspects, as well as referring to governance and economic issues, which links the stand design to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
