The International Tourism Trade Fair will take place from 19th to 23rd January at IFEMA MADRID. FITUR LINGUA at FITUR will present an updated programme with different activities from 19th to 21st January, with information about the language tourism segment, its characteristics, and promotional events for the coming year.

On Friday, 21st January, FITUR LINGUA will also hold a conference on language as an economic and tourism resource, in the Auditorium of Hall 8 at FITUR, which will analyse the following issues: economic data, advantages and companies related to language tourism, visitor profiles, strategy and market niches in language tourism, other stakeholders, government help, profitability and projects in language tourism, Corporate Social Responsibility in language tourism, and how to become an entrepreneur in the sector.

FEDELE will also organise an open agenda for professionals, operators, institutions and partners to find joint synergies, answer questions about the sector and mutual benefits in future activities.

Growth and Forecasts

Language tourism is defined by institutions such as the World Tourism Organization and Turespaña as activities in another country with the main aim of learning the language of the place they are visiting, complemented by a range of other social and cultural activities at the destination. Spanish is increasing in scope and popularity, and interest in learning it is becoming more and more apparent in countries like Germany, India, China and the United States, so FITUR has given it its own space.

FEDELE Spanish in Spain is the Spanish Federation of Associations of Schools of Spanish as a Foreign Language. It brings together six associations representing a hundred academies of Spanish as a foreign language. Since 1999, FEDELE’s primary objective has been to promote quality and professionalism among companies in the Spanish Teaching sector in Spain, with a shared purpose: to offer a quality linguistic and cultural immersion experience to students from all over the world.
