Vithas, the first healthcare operator with 100 por ciento Spanish capital, has appointed Mercedes Mengibar as Director of the Costa del Sol Area of Vithas, which includes the province of Malaga and Almunecar. Vithas has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. In 2017 Vithas incorporated the 7 hospitals of the Valencia-based NISA group, as well as the Rincon Clinics network in Malaga. The company has grown from 10 centres in 2012 to a total of 46 (19 hospitals and 27 medical centres) in 2017. The 2017 turnover has exceeded 500 million euros, with a team of more than 9.700 professionals who provide service for more than 5 million patients a year.
This expansion has created a new internal organisation supporting the two strategic axes of Vithas: high-quality healthcare accredited by the most prestigious international evaluation body (Joint Commission International) and personal service supported in its digital platform by means of Personal Health Advisor.
Mercedes Mengibar holds a Degree in Good Corporate Governance for Professional Councillors from ICA (Advisers-Managers' Institute) and is specialised in Management of Healthcare Companies.
