Catalonia Presents the New Features of its Nine Tourist Brands at FITUR

The Catalan Tourist Board will present a wide range of experiences for visitors to Catalonia at FITUR: family holidays, wine tourism, sport, adventure and mountain, rural tourism, opportunities for different meetings, and more. It will also be presenting new features from the territory’s nine tourism brands: Costa Brava, Costa Daurada, Terres de Lleida, Costa Barcelona, Paisajes Barcelona (Barcelona Landscapes), Pirineus (Pyrenees), Val d’Aran (Aran Valley), Terres de l’Ebre and Barcelona. The new Strategic Tourism Plan for 2018-2022 for Catalonia promotes a smart and sustainable model for Catalan tourism. It also includes specific measures to improve the sector’s competitiveness in order to put Catalonia among the top three tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. Additionally it aims to increase daily spending per tourist, deseasonalise, build loyalty among existing visitors and attract new ones, and increase visitors number to inland areas.

The government of Catalonia (Generalitat) is working towards a sustainable, responsible and smart tourism model that can increase economic activity and strengthen the country’s reputation abroad, a model that is compatible with residents’ quality of life.
