The future dental clinic in 2050, a (virtual) reality at Expodental 2020
This innovative proposal, located in the plaza of Hall 4, is the result of a line of research and services “Future Envisioning Services” led by IFEMA LAB, in collaboration with the students of the Master's Degree in Design of Commercial Spaces of the Higher School of Design of Madrid (ESD), and the students of the Master's Degree in Restorative Dentistry based on the New Technologies of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid
The future clinics will also have a reference model in the plaza of Hall 8, showing augmented reality techniques to explain oral-dental pathologies.
In alignment with technological advances and with the innovations that are transforming the way dental clinics will work in coming years and their design, EXPODENTAL 2020, International Dental Equipment, Supplies and Services Show, has prepared a unique offer this year for professionals attending the upcoming edition. The future dental clinic of 2050 will be presented, a proposal that is added to the list of major new items to be presented by the 356 companies participating in the Show on the 12 to 14 March, at Feria de Madrid.
The future dental clinic of 2050 is the result of the line of research and services “Future Envisioning Services” led by IFEMA LAB that will bring together seasoned professionals in a multitude of fields and specialities in order to come up with a prosperous and sustainable future for each sector represented at the IFEMA trade fairs. Sector reports will be produced from this synergy and common work, signed by IFEMA Lab.
This research is currently being developed, therefore IFEMA Lab is open to receiving companies and professionals who wish to be part of this innovative proposal, which will result in a full and informative report that will provide the keys to the future of the dentistry sector. Anyone who is interested can contact Fundación Ifema Lab at servicios@ifemalab.es
In this case, the project was developed in collaboration with the students of the Master's Degree in Design of Commercial Spaces of the Higher School of Design of Madrid (ESD), led by Romina Barbieri, architect specialised in dental clinic design, along with the students of the Master's Degree in Restorative Dentistry based on the New Technologies of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, led by Mr. Guillermo Pradíes.
The needs and challenges faced by the dental sector were the basis of this research, which will provide new approaches for the clinic where professionals will be working in thirty years, through a virtual reality experience. An experiential proposal with a strong architectural setting, developed exclusively for EXPODENTAL that will turn the fair into the maximum showcase of innovation in the sector and IFEMA into a doorway to the future.
The future dental clinic of 2050 that will be presented in the plaza of Hall 4 at Feria de Madrid, was also designed by the ESD students, and is sponsored by Televeus, a specialised TV channel for dental clinics, who will also be in this area presenting their proposals for the attending professionals.
Augmented Reality techniques and 3D images, at the plaza in Hall 8
The clinic of the future will also have an interesting reference model in the plaza of Hall 8, where Sanitas Dental Clinics, the sponsor of this area, will present one of its latest innovations. This is an application based on augmented reality that will help dentists explain the main oral-dental pathologies and their treatment, supporting their explanation with 3D-modelled images.
