FITUR wishes to recognize the effort and talent of exhibiting companies and organizations through these "Best Stand" awards, which are given, at the discretion of a committee made up of experts in marketing, image, ephemeral architecture and communication, to stands that stand out for their adaptation to the marketing needs of the product presented, the identification of the design with the image and brand of the company and its products.
Originality and innovative aspects.
That is to say, in assigning the prizes, the construction of the stand, its shapes, materials and innovative aspects, its design to impact the public and represent the identity of the exhibiting company or entity and its structure to enable the proper functioning of the stand in the tasks of the fair are taken into account. The members of the committee go through the entire fair and choose the stands that, in their opinion, deserve to be highlighted with these "Best Stand" awards that FITUR grants in recognition of their work.

Sustainable Stands Award
For the eighth time, FITUR is launching the "Sustainable Stand" Award, organized in collaboration with the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), with the aim of recognizing and highlighting the efforts of exhibiting companies to ensure that their presence at FITUR is environmentally and climate-friendly, contributes to social and cultural development, and serves as a benchmark for governance and economic sustainability.
- Announcement
FITUR, in collaboration with the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), announces the FITUR 2027 Sustainable Stand Award. This award recognizes the most sustainable practices adopted by exhibitors participating in the trade fair.
Sustainability will be assessed across its three dimensions (economic, social, and environmental), covering the entire lifecycle of participation in the trade fair, from preparation through to its conclusion and dismantling.
Through this initiative, FITUR reaffirms its commitment to making the exhibition and meetings industry a benchmark in sustainability, promoting the dissemination and adoption of best practices applicable to all types of events.
- Participants
All companies holding a stand at FITUR, that is, the trade fair’s direct exhibitors, are eligible to participate.
- How to participate
Direct exhibitors at FITUR wishing to participate must complete and submit the questionnaire published HERE and, if deemed necessary by the organizers, allow a verification visit during the trade fair.
The questionnaire must be fully completed in all its sections and include the relevant descriptions when referring to the sustainability practices implemented. Otherwise, the corresponding section will not be evaluated.
The deadline for submitting the questionnaire is January 21, 2027, at 7:00 p.m. (end of the second day of the trade fair).
- Jury
The jury will be composed of industry representatives and sustainability experts.
Representing IFEMA MADRID, the jury will include the FITUR Management and the Quality and Sustainability Management teams.
The composition of the jury will be made public when the award decision is announced.
- Selection of the winner
The jury will evaluate the information provided through the questionnaire, as well as the impact of the actions, their degree of innovation, and the effort involved in their implementation. It will also take into account the contribution made to fostering a culture of sustainability within the exhibition and meetings industry.
The jury may grant the award to as many entries ex aequo as it considers appropriate, or may decide not to award the prize.
- Award
The prize consists of an official certificate and a trophy, which will be presented after the announcement of the jury’s decision at a ceremony whose date will be communicated to the winner well in advance.
- Publicity
The award will be announced through a press release issued jointly with the results of the other awards organized by FITUR.
Winners of the FITUR 2026 Sustainable Stands Awards
- Cantabria, For its part, the organisation bases its project on the development of its own platform, ‘Inicia 2030’, designed to monitor its sustainability objectives and outcomes. It also has a dismantling protocol in place to avoid the demolition of the exhibition space.
- Grupo Piñero has been recognised at this year’s event for its comprehensive sustainability project, which represents a balanced, holistic commitment and is making progress by involving all stakeholders, including visitors.
- Ayuntamiento de Castelldefels He has been recognised for structuring his commitment to sustainability around cultural identity, centred on such a quintessentially local feature as the beach bar, which not only serves as an aesthetic reference but also provides the material for the decking and other elements of the stand.
- On this occasion, Galicia has been recognised for its commitment to innovation through a textile material produced by recycling more than 50,000 plastic bottles, which was used to construct the panels for the stand.
FITUR Active Tourism Award
The aim of the 32nd edition of the FITUR Active Tourism Awards is to promote the development and marketing of the tourism industry and to showcase the highest-quality tourism products, both nationally and internationally.
It is a platform for raising awareness of the range of products and services available in the active tourism sector and, as such, serves as a distribution channel for both tour operators and end consumers.
- FITUR and AireLibre magazine announce the 32nd FITUR Active Tourism Awards.
- The FITUR Active Tourism Awards aim to recognize companies and professionals who develop high-quality tourism products and promote experiential tourism aligned with the sustainability principles that should guide the tourism industry.
- Participants. FITUR 2027 exhibitors and co-exhibitors may submit their tourism products based on culture, nature, adventure, food and wine tourism, or any other experiential activity designed in accordance with the principles of economic, environmental, and/or social sustainability for destinations and local communities.
- Product evaluation criteria for selection
- Original and innovative product.
- Product that contributes to sustainable tourism development from an economic, environmental, and/or social perspective.
- Quality of the product’s image and marketing materials.
- Participation procedure. Each entity may submit only one product. To participate, applicants must complete, before November 27, 2026, the following form: REGISTRATION FORM and follow the instructions provided regarding the descriptive materials that must accompany the application.
- The jury.
The jury will be made up of representatives from AireLibre magazine and FITUR. The jury will grant a maximum of four awards: two in the national category and two in the international category.
The jury’s decision and the notification of the winners of the FITUR Active Tourism Awards will take place before January 13, 2027.
Any of the awards may be declared void at the discretion of the jury.
The jury’s decision shall be final and not subject to appeal.

27th Tribuna FITUR – Jorge Vila Fredera FITUR 2026 call for applications
FITUR and AECIT (Spanish Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism) organised the 27th FITUR - Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune.
- Objective: To select an unpublished work of research in the field of tourism, publish it and disseminate it in the academic and training world.
- Structure of the call for entries: All tourism research papers from Spain and Latin America, submitted by individuals of legal age, are eligible to compete.
#01 FITUR announces the 27th edition of the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune, with the collaboration of AECIT.
#02 The aim of this call is to select an unpublished work of research in the field of tourism, edit it and disseminate its publication in the academic and training world.
#03 This is an annual call for papers.
#04 Works must be submitted in Spanish, by natural persons of legal age.
#05 The geographical scope of the research work is international.
#06 A Technical-Scientific Selection Committee will be formed from among the members of AECIT, which will include the sponsors of this Tribune and representatives of FITUR. This Committee will be chaired by a member of the AECIT Board of Directors and will have a casting vote in the event of a tie. It may select a maximum of one work, and the decision may be declared void.
#07 The Selection Committee will establish objective scales for the evaluation of the works presented.
#08 The Committee's decision will be irrevocable.
#09 The Technical-Scientific Committee will select a maximum of four finalist works, which will be presented at the technical conference organised by AECIT during FITUR. In order to obtain the award, the selected work must have been presented by the author or one of its authors at the technical conference. The presentation must be made in person. Only in the case of force majeure will electronic presentation be permitted, and such force majeure must be duly justified. In any case, it will be up to the members of the Technical-Scientific Committee to decide whether the reason given for the telematic presentation is adequately justified. Finally, the Technical-Scientific Committee will give preference to papers submitted in person.
#10 Under the aforementioned conditions, the work may not exceed a maximum of 150 pages (excluding annexes).
#11 Works that have been presented in previous editions of the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune Award will not be accepted in this call for entries.
#12 In order to guarantee anonymity in the evaluation process, entries must include three PDF's with the following information:
- First PDF:
- Work submitted for the 27th edition FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune Award, with the title of the work and a pseudonym.
- The name and surname(s) of the author(s), or their affiliation, will never appear, neither on the cover page nor on the inside pages of the work.
- Second PDF:
- A brief summary, headed with the title of the work and the pseudonym, in which the objectives of the work, the methodology used and the results obtained are clearly and briefly explained.
- Third PDF:
- Photocopy of the identity card or passport of the author or authors of the work, as well as a brief CV of each of them.
- Word document
- It must include name, surname, address and e-mail address.
Works that do not comply with the above indications will be excluded.
The above documents must be sent in PDF to the address [email protected] before 12 December 2025.
#13 The selected work will be acknowledged by the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune and will be edit in Spanish in online format.
#14 The author's rights will be recognised and authorisation will be obligatory in order to assign the publishing and dissemination rights to the organisation and sponsors.
#15 The decision will be communicated during the days of FITUR 2026.
#16 The winning author will be invited to the annual awards ceremony organised by FITUR in the months following the fair.
#17 Finalists who have not been awarded the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune prize will receive a certificate of finalist work issued by AECIT.
#18 All participants expressly accept these rules.
