Best Booth Awards

FITUR wishes to recognize the effort and talent of exhibiting companies and organizations through these "Best Stand" awards, which are given, at the discretion of a committee made up of experts in marketing, image, ephemeral architecture and communication, to stands that stand out for their adaptation to the marketing needs of the product presented, the identification of the design with the image and brand of the company and its products.

Originality and innovative aspects.

That is to say, in assigning the prizes, the construction of the stand, its shapes, materials and innovative aspects, its design to impact the public and represent the identity of the exhibiting company or entity and its structure to enable the proper functioning of the stand in the tasks of the fair are taken into account. The members of the committee go through the entire fair and choose the stands that, in their opinion, deserve to be highlighted with these "Best Stand" awards that FITUR grants in recognition of their work.

Sustainable Stands Award

For the seventh time FITUR has awarded the "Sustainable Stand" Award, organized with the collaboration of the Responsible Tourism Institute (ITR), with the aim of recognizing and highlighting the efforts of exhibiting companies to make their presence at FITUR respectful of the environment and climate change, contributing to favoring social and cultural aspects, as well as making reference to governance and economic issues.

You can participate in the 2026 edition.

FITUR, in collaboration with the Responsible Tourism Institute - ITR - announces the FITUR 2026 sustainable stand award. This award recognises the most sustainable practices when participating as an exhibitor at the event.

Sustainability in its three aspects (economic, social and environmental) will be taken into account and the entire life cycle of the fair, from its preparation to its conclusion and closure, will be incorporated.

With this, FITUR reaffirms its commitment to making the trade fair and conference industry a benchmark in this discipline, promoting the outreach and knowledge of best practices applicable to all types of events.

Participants:

Entry is open to all companies with a stand at FITUR, i.e. direct exhibitors at the fair.

How to enter:

Direct exhibitors at FITUR who wish to participate in this call for entries must complete and submit the questionnaire published HERE and, if deemed necessary by the Organisers, attend a verification visit during the fair.

All sections of the questionnaire should be completed, including the relevant descriptions when citing best practices. Otherwise, the corresponding section will not be assessed.

The deadline for submitting the questionnaire is 22 January 2026 at 7pm (end of the second day of the fair).

Jury:

The jury will be composed of industry representatives and sustainability specialists.

On behalf of IFEMA MADRID, the FITUR Management and the Quality and Sustainability Department will also form part of the jury.

The composition of the jury will be made public when the prize is awarded.

Selection of the winner:

The Jury will assess the information provided through the form, as well as the impact of the actions, their degree of innovation and the effort in their implementation. It will also take into account the boost it gives to the development of the culture of sustainability within the trade fair and conference industry.

Prizes will be awarded for the number of ex aequo nominations that the Jury deems appropriate, and the prize may also be declared  null and void.

Awards:

The prize consists of a diploma and a trophy, which will be awarded after the announcement of the decision, at an event whose date will be notified to the winner sufficiently in advance.

Publicity:

The award will be notified through a joint Press Release with the results of the other prizes awarded by FITUR. 

Active tourism

FITUR Active Tourism Award

FITUR and AireLibre magazine announce the 31st FITUR Active Tourism Awards.

Objective: To promote the development and marketing of the tourism industry and project the highest quality tourism products, both nationally and internationally.

It is a platform to publicize the existing offer in products/services related to active tourism and, therefore, serves as a distribution channel to both tour operators and the end consumer.

#01 FITUR and AireLibre Magazine Announce the 31th Edition of the FITUR Active Tourism Awards

#02 The FITUR Active Tourism Awards aim to recognize companies and professionals who develop quality tourism products and promote experience-based tourism aligned with the sustainability principles that should guide the tourism industry's progress.

#03 Participants 

Exhibitors and co-exhibitors at FITUR 2026 may present their tourism products based on culture, nature, adventure, food and wine and any other experiential activity that has been designed in accordance with the principles of economic, environmental and/or social sustainability of territories and citizens.

#04 Product Evaluation Criteria for Selection

  • Innovative and novel product
  • Product contributing to sustainable tourism development in its economic, environmental, and/or social dimensions
  • Quality in product image and marketing elements

#05 Participation Procedure

Each entity may enter with a single product to do so, they must complete the following registration form REGISTRATION FORM, and follow the detailed instructions regarding the descriptive materials of the product to accompany the registration, before November 28, 2025.

#06 The Jury

The jury will be composed of representatives from AireLibre Magazine, FITUR, and the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers. The jury will award up to 4 prizes: 2 in the national category and 2 in the international category. The jury's decision and the announcement of the FITUR Active Tourism Awards winners will be made before January 13, 2026

Any of the awards may be declared void by the jury's decision. 

The jury's decision will be final and irrevocable.

#07 Benefits for Winners 

The winners of the FITUR Active Tourism Awards will receive an accreditation diploma during the fair. Furthermore, they will benefit from the following communication actions by AireLibre Magazine and FITUR: 

From AireLibre:

  • Promotion of participants and winners on their website (www.airelibre.com)
  • Inclusion of the list of participating products in the AireLibre Guide, sent to:
    • Over 2,500,000 AireLibre digital users.
    • 15,000 printed copies distributed free of charge to FITUR visitors.
  • Monthly double-page publication in the magazine featuring each of the winning products.
  • Sending of a newsletter where each winning product can include the desired information, as well as links to websites, videos, etc.
  • Publication on AireLibre's social media, with promotion up to 150,000 views on Instagram.

27th Tribuna FITUR – Jorge Vila Fredera FITUR 2026 call for applications

FITUR and AECIT (Spanish Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism) organised the 27th FITUR - Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune.

  • Objective: To select an unpublished work of research in the field of tourism, publish it and disseminate it in the academic and training world.
  • Structure of the call for entries: All tourism research papers from Spain and Latin America, submitted by individuals of legal age, are eligible to compete.

#01 FITUR announces the 27th edition of the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune, with the collaboration of AECIT.

#02 The aim of this call is to select an unpublished work of research in the field of tourism, edit it and disseminate its publication in the academic and training world.

#03 This is an annual call for papers.

#04 Works must be submitted in Spanish, by natural persons of legal age.

#05 The geographical scope of the research work is international.

#06 A Technical-Scientific Selection Committee will be formed from among the members of AECIT, which will include the sponsors of this Tribune and representatives of FITUR. This Committee will be chaired by a member of the AECIT Board of Directors and will have a casting vote in the event of a tie. It may select a maximum of one work, and the decision may be declared void.

#07 The Selection Committee will establish objective scales for the evaluation of the works presented.

#08 The Committee's decision will be irrevocable.

#09 The Technical-Scientific Committee will select a maximum of four finalist works, which will be presented at the technical conference organised by AECIT during FITUR. In order to obtain the award, the selected work must have been presented by the author or one of its authors at the technical conference. The presentation must be made in person. Only in the case of force majeure will electronic presentation be permitted, and such force majeure must be duly justified. In any case, it will be up to the members of the Technical-Scientific Committee to decide whether the reason given for the telematic presentation is adequately justified. Finally, the Technical-Scientific Committee will give preference to papers submitted in person.

#10 Under the aforementioned conditions, the work may not exceed a maximum of 150 pages (excluding annexes).

#11 Works that have been presented in previous editions of the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune Award will not be accepted in this call for entries.

#12 In order to guarantee anonymity in the evaluation process, entries must include three PDF's with the following information:

  • First PDF:
    • Work submitted for the 27th edition FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune Award, with the title of the work and a pseudonym.
    • The name and surname(s) of the author(s), or their affiliation, will never appear, neither on the cover page nor on the inside pages of the work.
  • Second PDF:
    • A brief summary, headed with the title of the work and the pseudonym, in which the objectives of the work, the methodology used and the results obtained are clearly and briefly explained.
  • Third PDF:
    • Photocopy of the identity card or passport of the author or authors of the work, as well as a brief CV of each of them.
  • Word document
    • It must include name, surname, address and e-mail address.

Works that do not comply with the above indications will be excluded.

The above documents must be sent in PDF to the address [email protected]  before 12 December 2025.

#13 The selected work will be acknowledged by the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune and will be edit in Spanish in online format.

#14 The author's rights will be recognised and authorisation will be obligatory in order to assign the publishing and dissemination rights to the organisation and sponsors.

#15 The decision will be communicated during the days of FITUR 2026.

#16 The winning author will be invited to the annual awards ceremony organised by FITUR in the months following the fair.

#17 Finalists who have not been awarded the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Tribune prize will receive a certificate of finalist work issued by AECIT.

#18 All participants expressly accept these rules.
