The digital brain of tourism will be the focus of the 14th edition of FITUR Know-How & Export

FITUR Know-How & Export will take place in Hall 12, known as the Knowledge Hub.

The digital brain of tourism will be the focus of the contents of the 14th edition of FITUR Know-How & Export, an initiative organised by FITUR in collaboration with SEGITTUR and with the support of ICEX Spain Trade and Investment. Located in the Knowledge Hub, Hall 12 of IFEMA MADRID, from 21 to 23 January, it will give visibility to the different projects that are being implemented thanks to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed with European NextGeneration funds and aimed at boosting the digital transformation of the tourism industry in Spain. Over the three days of FITUR Know-How & Export the digital brain of tourism will be under discussion, which is the Smart Tourism Platform, and visitors will be able to learn about the services it offers destinations, companies and tourists through the interactive screens available in the space. Also destinations such as Benidorm, Diputación de Jaen, Jerez de la Frontera and Grazalema will be sharing their experiences with the Smart Destination Platform. Another key theme of this edition will be connected tourism and the transformative power of a tourism data space. Visitors will be able to discover how this initiative is going to work and how they can participate in the project, which will be key to the transformation of tourism. Smart destinations The smart destinations model will be discussed as a methodology promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism that supports emerging destinations, while visibility will be given to international destinations that are committed to this Spanish methodology, with examples such as Peru or the cities of Bogota and Montevideo. In the setting of FITUR Know-How & Export, the DTI awards will be presented to more than seventy Spanish destinations on Thursday 22 January. Sustainability and Talent Sustainability will be another of the topics being addressed, specifically the promotion of the creation of tourism products linked to the primary sector, as well as the promotion of the circular economy in tourist destinations and companies. In addition, representatives from the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations (CEHAT) and UN Tourism, among other keynote speakers, will be talking about about talent and training to achieve more competitive tourism. In addition, during the professional days of the trade fair, there will be a series of workshops and training sessions for industry professionals, which will be addressing key issues, such as the digitalisation of destinations, data interoperability, sustainability and tourism competitiveness. With this new edition, FITUR Know-How & Export will be reaffirming its role as a benchmark platform for tourism innovation and as a catalyst for change towards a smarter, more connected and sustainable destination mode.
