We would rate Mauritania's participation in FITUR 2026 as very successful and extremely positive. The trade fair has provided an excellent international platform to reinforce the country's image as an emerging and authentic destination, increase its visibility in the European market and establish valuable professional connections. The overall response from visitors and industry professionals exceeded our expectations.
What are the results of your presence at the trade fair, in terms of visitors, meetings and outstanding activities?
Our stand received a large number of visitors throughout the event, with great interest shown from both tourism professionals and the general public. We held numerous business meetings with tour operators, travel agencies, institutional representatives and specialised media, which generated promising opportunities for collaboration.
In addition, several destination presentations, promotional activities and networking sessions were organised, showcasing the potential of Mauritania's tourism. We also received important institutional visits from international tourism authorities, diplomatic representatives and key industry players, which further enhanced the impact of our participation.
What were visitors to the stand able to learn about your country?
The main attractions promoted included Mauritania's vast desert landscapes, the Banc d'Arguin National Park, the historic caravan towns of Chinguetti, Ouadane, Tichitt and Oualata (UNESCO World Heritage site), coastal tourism, cultural heritage, gastronomy and nomadic traditions.
