Organised by FITUR in collaboration with FEDELE, the seventh edition of this section will be focusing on the strategic importance of language as a driver of tourism and the global opportunities for growth.

FITUR Lingua, the section of the International Tourism Trade Fair specialising in language tourism, organised in collaboration with FEDELE, (Federation of Associations of Spanish schools in Spain), is holding its seventh edition on Thursday 21 January in Hall 2 at IFEMA MADRID.

Under the slogan ‘Language as a catalyst for tourism’, FITUR Lingua 2027 will be analysing the current situation and future prospects of language tourism from an international perspective. Highlights of the programme include sessions focusing on the economic impact of Spanish language teaching in Spain; the international perception of our country as a language learning destination; and the presentation of new data on the profile, motivations and business opportunities associated with international students of Spanish.

The event will be attended by representatives of leading organisations and institutions, such as ICEX, Turespaña, the Regional Ministry of Education in Italy and Instituto Cervantes, among others, as well as specialists from international organisations involved in language teaching and educational mobility. The event will also address the evolution of international student flows, opportunities in new source markets and the trends that will shape the sector’s future over the next decade.

In addition to the sessions, FITUR Lingua will include networking opportunities to encourage contact between educational establishments, agencies, institutions and industry professionals. Since the launch of FITUR Lingua in 2021, the section has established itself as a platform focused on the potential of language as a catalyst for tourism, combining learning, culture and economic development.
