FITUR LINGUA will once again highlight language tourism and its potential markets at FITUR 2023

FITUR 2023 to be held from 18 to 22 January 2023 organised by IFEMA MADRID

Organised by FITUR, in collaboration with FEDELE, it will offer a programme of activities based on the projection of Spanish and its capacity to become a tourist attraction for dozens of potential markets.

The International Tourism Trade Fair, which will be held from 18 to 22 January at IFEMA MADRID, is organising in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners, FEDELE, the FITUR LINGUA section, the space that deals with the world of opportunities in language tourism, which will offer  a full programme of activities around the rise and projection of Spanish and its capacity to become a tourist attraction for dozens of potential markets.

In this way, FITUR LINGUA gives the language tourism product a place at FITUR as a valuable asset for Spain and opens up a way to boost the growth possibilities of operators, companies and institutions operating in this field. To this end, it will have a space in which there will be a round of interviews with leading personalities in the sector, the winners of Spanish Week 2022 and local entities that are committed to this type of tourism.

On the other hand, the FEDELE stand will be available for all those interested in learning more about its centres and language tourism; and different activities will be organised, some of them in collaboration with local entities, in which economic data on language tourism in the different regions will be presented.

Revival of language tourism

Among the topics to be discussed at FITUR LINGUA, will be the revival of language tourism in 2022 and forecasts for 2023, current challenges and uncertainties, changes in the profile of language tourists in recent years, and language tourism destinations and experiences in our country. In addition, the "1000 experiences of Spanish in Spain" campaign and its first results will be presented.

FEDELE, Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners, is made up of six associations comprising around one hundred schools of Spanish as a foreign language. Since 1999, its main objective has been to promote a status of quality and professionalism of companies in the Spanish language teaching sector in Spain with a common goal: To offer a quality linguistic and cultural immersion experience to students from all over the world.
