Mónica González Llinás: Seychelles to organise meetings with tour operators and strategic partners at FITUR 2026
At FITUR 2026 Seychelles will be presenting its world-famous beaches; its marine and terrestrial biodiversity; the ecotourism and conservation initiatives that have made it an international benchmark in sustainability, and its rich Creole culture, reflected in its gastronomy, music and handicrafts.
Mónica González Llinás, marketing executive at the Seychelles Tourism Board, adds that the Seychelles stand will be organising "meetings with tour operators, immersive audiovisual presentations and professional meetings with strategic partners".
How important is the tourism sector in Seychelles?
Tourism is the mainstay of the Seychelles economy, accounting for about one third of the national GDP and is the main source of direct and indirect employment.
What visitor data can you provide us with?
In 2024 we welcomed more than 350,000 international visitors, with sustained growth in European markets, especially France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Sustainable tourism, the preservation of our marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and the promotion of authentic experiences are at the core of our strategy.
What does participating at FITUR 2026 mean for your country?
FITUR is one of the most influential international tourism trade fairs worldwide and is a key platform for consolidating our presence in the Spanish market. For Seychelles, participating in FITUR 2026 allows us to reinforce our image as a safe, sustainable and high value-added destination, as well as establish new business links with tour operators, airlines and specialised agencies.
Which of your territory’s attractions will you be presenting?
At FITUR 2026 we will be presenting our world-famous beaches, such as Anse Lazio and Anse Source d'Argent; our unique biodiversity, both marine (marine parks, turtle reserves) and terrestrial (the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO World Heritage Site); the ecotourism and conservation initiatives that have made us an international benchmark in sustainability; and our rich Creole culture, reflected in our gastronomy, music and handicrafts.
What other activities are you planning for your stand?
We will be hosting meetings with tour operators and immersive audiovisual presentations. We also plan to arrange professional meetings with strategic partners and clarify any doubts to promote awareness of our destination among the general public.
How will they impact the sustainability of your tourism model?
Seychelles reaffirms its commitment to a model of responsible tourism that protects its natural environment. Our message at FITUR 2026 will be clear: to discover Seychelles is to live an authentic, respectful and transformative experience. "Seychelles is Another World.”
