AENOR, the leading entity in the field of certification, has awarded IFEMA its Emergency Management Certificate, confirming the Institution's capacity to provide an effective response to an emergency. The General Manager of IFEMA , Eduardo López-Puertas, who received the ISO 22320 certificate from the Director of Sector and Product Marketing of AENOR, Pablo Corróns, said that “the award of this certificate highlights IFEMA's ability to manage emergencies, due both to the work of its security team and to its facilities, which are equipped with the latest technologies and quality standards in this area.”
For Pablo Corróns, “the AENOR Emergency Management certificate shows that IFEMA successfully applies the best global practices in the matter, as set out in the International Standard ISO 22320. AENOR has certified 30 organisations in accordance with this standard, the ultimate goal of which is to save lives and minimise possible damages and losses.”
The constant updating of the security systems at its facilities is one of the areas that IFEMA pays special attention to in order to guarantee protection and quality for the 3.6 million visitors and 700,000 vehicles that come to the site each year. For example, last September the Institution completed the installation of a high security system for access control and video surveillance at the Feria de Madrid, consisting of a set of protection devices featuring the latest generation of safety barriers, with video surveillance equipment deployed in strategic positions, fully integrated and operated centrally.
