The registration period has begun for the 10th World Ham Congress, which will be held from 17 to 19 September at IFEMA. You can access all the information on the website congresomundialdeljamon.es .

The Congress takes place every 2 years, and this time around Madrid has been chosen as the host city, coinciding with the celebration of Meat Attraction, the leading annual meat industry fair. Access to Meat Attraction is included free of charge with registration for the 10th World Ham Congress.

All people, companies or entities interested in participating can check the preview of the programme and register on the website congresomundialdeljamon.es/inscripcion/, which will also provide information on rates and the modalities on offer to suit all needs and circumstances, such as the student option or part-time attendance.

The President of the Congress, Julio Tapiador, affirms that "this tenth edition offers an attractive programme that is not only geared toward professionals of the sector, but can also be of interest to consumers, gastronomers, and all lovers of these great products that are Serrano and Iberian ham. " Regarding the programme, Julio Tapiador clarifies that "the various presentations that will be given throughout the Congress will address issues like commercialisation, marketing in domestic and international markets, nutrition, and the social impact of this food, among other things."

Full registration for the Congress includes access to all three days of the event, the congress-goer’s portfolio, coffees, lunches, and a gala dinner to be held on 18 September.

For those who cannot attend all 3 days, it is possible to register to attend a half Congress on the 17th and 18th. This option does not include the gala dinner, but does include the rest of the services. It is also possible to attend on the 18th and 19th, which does include the gala dinner.

In addition, a social programme is being made available to attendees in which some of the most emblematic sights in Madrid will be visited in order to liven up the stay in the city for congress-goers.

The programme, which is already taking shape, can be consulted here. Among the confirmed speakers we can highlight scientists from most of the research centres in Europe related to cured ham, as well as other experts in other areas, such as promotion and marketing.

This Congress is international at its core, and its participation is open to the integration of all kinds of markets. Proof of this is that, since its inception in 2001, numerous domestic and international cities, such as Ourique (Portugal) and Toulouse (France) have hosted this event. The last edition was in Toledo in 2017.

About the X Congreso Mundial del Jamón (10th World Ham Congress):

The X Congreso Mundial de Jamón (10th World Ham Congress) will be held next 17, 18 and 19 September 2019 at the Feria de Madrid (IFEMA). It is a very special edition as this will be its tenth anniversary.

It is a unique event in the world that has achieved extraordinary success since its first edition in 2001, which was held in Córdoba, because it has proven able to share and explain both the progress and problems of the industry in a single forum, where more than 400 entrepreneurs and about 150 researchers take part.

Goals: to go into depth on the production, research and marketing of ham, present the latest trends and news on nutrition and gastronomy, and study the success stories and the best marketing and sales tools that will help the sector improve its commercial efficiency. The Congress thus intends to increase the prestige of cured ham and the importance of a world-beating industry and encourage consumption throughout the globe.
