L'Atelier Barcelona, run by Eric Ortuño and Ximena Pastor, is the winner of the Dulcypas Award for Spain's Best Tea Biscuit 2020, which took place on 19, 20 and 21 February at the Advanced School of Hospitality in Seville. Their creation, called the Reus, based on salted caramel, chocolate and praline, won over the judging panel with its taste, impeccable and unique textures and original format. Close runners-up Los Baltazares de Sevilla presented an original aromatic biscuit presented in a test tube, combining roasted pineapple with chamomile vinegar. In third place were the Álvarez brothers from A Maquía, A Coruña, with Dumbo, a biscuit with the peanut as the key flavour.

The fourth edition of this contest, organised by Dulcypas pastry magazine and sponsored by InterSICOP, has again broken records in terms of the number of participants, with 207 establishments from all over Spain taking part. New this year was the awarding of 17 distinctions to the best classified biscuit in each autonomous community.
