InterSICOP LIVEConnect, Open and Active Until the In-Person Event in February 2022
During its first month of activity, InterSICOP LIVEConnect has become the leading professional online community for the bakery, patisserie, and ice-cream sectors. It has demonstrated its outstanding ability to aggregate and serve as a platform for content generation and networking. The InterSICOP LIVEConnect community currently has almost 2,000 members from 38 countries, with a strong Latin American presence representing more than 67% of the total.
The excellent performance and pace of activity on the LIVEConnect platform have convinced the organisers to keep it operating for the coming months, free of charge for currently registered participants. This will allow more time to develop existing contacts and make new ones and enjoy the extensive technical seminars programme that, throughout March, have amounted to 121 sessions and 130 hours of knowledge sharing and have reached 2,300 registered users with over 4,900 views. The online platform will be the place where masterclasses, conferences and special-interest sections, and presentations for the bakery, patisserie and ice cream sector will take place until the on-site event in February 2022.
The conference began with the COPAN Congress, co-organised with ASEMAC. After that came the SICOP Women’s Congress, which highlighted the role of women in the bakery sector, with the help of Pan de Calidad and Panorama Panadero, which ended with special career achievement awards for Anna Bellsola, of the Baluard Bakery in Barcelona, and Antia Fernández, of the Pallares Bakery in Sarria, Lugo.
InterSICOP LIVEConnect has also hosted several sessions focusing on Bakery and Pastries, such as those organised by CEOPPAN: Ibero-American Bakery Conference “The Post-Covid Bakery”; Do Current Training Models Meet The Sector’s Needs? Innovation: The Foundation Of the Sector’s Development; Good Morning With Bread; The Everyday Bakery. The Spanish Confederation of Artisan Confectionery Entrepreneurs (CEEAP) has organised various presentations: Making Healthier Breakfasts; Presentation of the Master Craftsman Championship Participants; Nutritional Profile in Patisserie; Vocational Training in Patisserie; and presentations by different Spanish Patisserie Schools. And the Spanish Flour and Semolina Manufacturers Association (AFHSE) provided sessions such as Getting to Know About The New Flours That Are Coming: Niches and Functional Contributions; Everything You Need To Know About The Flours Used To Make The Bread You Eat; Changes In Household Flour Consumption Since the Beginning of the Pandemic; Flour Quality Defects: Quick Detection Methods.
Among many other events, the platform has also covered the 4th Madrid’s Best Torrijas Contest 2021, organised by the Madrid Association of Patisserie Sector Artisan Entrepreneurs (ASEMPAS). The winners were Paco Pastel in the Traditional Torrija category and Manacel in the Gluten-Free Torrija category.
To boost internationalisation, following the International Conferences Series focused on Peru, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile, InterSICOP organised 95 B2B meetings on the platform, with buyers with high decision-making power in markets such as Mexico, Colombia and Peru, and exhibitors in the TecSICOP field.
Over the coming two months, InterSICOP will continue enabling the community to make more contacts, expand its networks, meetings, video calls and continue working with their contacts. This living and dynamic platform will continue helping the community to grow over the coming weeks.
