Adrià Aguilera, from the l'Atelier school in Barcelona, was proclaimed the winner of the 3rd Spanish Pastry Students' Championship, organised by CEEAP and held today at InterSICOP at IFEMA MADRID. In second place was Isaac García, from the ITEPPA Pastry School in Asturias, and in third place was Luis Vicent, from the Confectioners' Guild Pastry School in Valencia.
A jury chaired by the chocolatier Raúl Bernal, together with Lluís Costa, José Manuel Samper, Francisco Somoza, Maties Miralles and the curators Fátima Gismero and Esther Aibar, was responsible for assessing the entries.
The 10 competing students stood out for their professionalism, cleanliness, and creativity in the preparation of a travel cake, a puff pastry millefeuille with two fillings and a chocolate tart. In fact, special prizes were also awarded for the best score in each of these specialities. Adrià Aguilera himself won the prize for Best Cake, Isaac García the prize for Best Chocolate Cake and the student Lorena Moya, from the Josep Sureda i Blances Secondary School in Mallorca, was the author of the best puff pastry millefeuille.
