VeePee Creativity Awards

In 2021 Veepee, the ecommerce leader in flash sales turns 20 and to celebrate its anniversary, it will join forces with ARCOmadrid to create the ‘VeePee Creativity Awards’, under the motto -Visions of the Future-, with a view to fostering art and young talents.

The projects by the artists Marian Garrido -Fran Reus-, Esther Gatón –Cibrián- and Kristin Wenzel - Suprainfinit Gallery- have been selected by the jury as finalists of the first edition of the VeePee Creativity Awards, the winner of which will be announced on July 7th , the first day of ARCOmadrid, in the Exhibitors Lounge. The jury’s choice reflects the high level of participation and the quality of the works presented.

26 artists from 13 countries, represented by 12 galleries from the Opening section of ARCOmadrid 2021, participated in the first edition of the VeePee Creativity Awards.

XIV Illy Sustainart Award

Illycaffè continues to support emerging young artists present at the contemporary art fair ARCOmadrid 2021 with the XIV edition of the Illy Sustainart Award.

A jury composed of professionals from the sector will distinguish the work of those Latin American artists born after 1981 who are from coffee-producing countries. Their work will be exhibited at the Fair.

The award ceremony will take place in the Illycaffè space of the fair, in Pavilion 7.

V Cervezas Alhambra Award for Emerging Art

This year, the Cervezas Alhambra Award for Emerging Art will celebrate its fifth edition as a consolidated benchmark in contemporary creation. The award once again brings together the best emerging artists on the national scene to create previously unpublished works that reflect the spirit of the brand through a crafted production process reinterpreted in a contemporary key, with the Alhambra and Granada as their inspiration.

Belén Rodríguez, Fernando García, Julia Huete, Antonio Fernández Alvira and Juan López were the five finalists who participated in this 5th edition of the Cervezas Alhambra Award for Emerging Art. Their proposals will be exhibited in the Cervezas Alhambra space of ARCOmadrid 2021 in Pavilion 7, where the winner will be announced.  

XVI Beep Award for Electronic Art

The BEEP Award for Electronic Art celebrates its sixteenth edition at ARCOmadrid in 2021. This award seeks to promote the research, production and exhibition of art linked to the new technologies or electronic art.

The award winner will be announced during ARCOmadrid by a jury made up of professionals from the art world and is endowed with 15,000 euros. Its goal is to promote the creation of art linked to technology, fostering communication between the manufacturers and creators of technology and the creating artists. 

“A” Awards for Collecting

This year the Fundación ARCO, driven by IFEMA MADRID, has distinguished three collections in its “A” Awards for Collecting: the Maria and Armando Cabral Collection, in the International Private Collection category, Eulogio Sánchez, National Private Collection and the Fundación ”la Caixa” Collection of Contemporary Art, to receive the Honorary Award.

On this twenty-fifth edition, the Fundación has granted these awards that recognise the artistic value of collections assembled by collectors and institutions and their work to support the spread of contemporary art.

The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, July 6th in the gardens of Banca March followed by the traditional Fundación ARCO dinner aimed at raising funds for the acquisition of works at ARCOmadrid 2021 for its collection, currently housed in CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in the Madrid region.

VII Opening Award

For the seventh year, ARCOmadrid will grant the Opening Award, to distinguish the best stand in this section. A jury of curators and both Spanish and foreign professionals will choose the best space from among the participating galleries of Opening. The winner will be reimbursed the value of their stand at the Fair.
