The Collection

In 1987, IFEMA promotes Fundación ARCO and its Collection, whose objective is the promotion, research, outreach and dissemination of contemporary art, as well as the publication, training and teaching of artistic trends and techniques, especially those related to modern manifestations of contemporary art.

At ARCOmadrid, the Fundación ARCO Collection brings together works acquired annually. Today, its stock of works represents one of the most outstanding collections of contemporary art in Spain that, from its origins, has embodied two very clear objectives: first, to serve as an example to other institutions and companies at the time of purchasing works at ARCOmadrid and, second, to encourage the corporate, private and institutional collecting of contemporary art and boost the market in the context of the Fair.

The Fundación ARCO Collection, today with more than 300 pieces, is backed by the advice of various professionals from the sector around the world such as Edy de Wilde, Gloria Moure, Jan Debbaut, Dan Cameron, Iwona Blazwick, María de Corral, Chus Martínez, Sabine Brietwiesser, José Guirao, Ferrán Barenblit and Miguel von Hafe. In 2019, Manuel Segade and Vincent Honoré served as consultants.

Currently, the Fundación ARCO Collection is being loaned out to the CA2M Centro de Arte dos de Mayo in Móstoles in the Community of Madrid. The works are part of the CA2M exhibition project and, as such, are shown in the different exhibitions hosted by this centre.
