During the holding of ARCOmadrid, Fundación ARCO makes acquisitions with funds raised from private donations and the collection of the dinner held on the occasion of the “A” Awards for Collecting organised by Fundación ARCO, in addition to the funds provided by IFEMA MADRID. The procurement policy focuses on the works of national and international artists, seeking to make the acquired works representative of the production of the selected artists.
The curators are responsible for making a selection of works during the days of the fair's set-up and inauguration in each edition. This selection is presented to the Chairman of Fundación ARCO and the other members of the Advisory Council in order to subsequently prepare a final list of acquisitions that is published in the press together with the rest of the institutions that have acquired works during the first few days of the fair.

Blind self portrait gloomy self portrait standing in the threshold of a Neapolitan palazzo drilling a portable turntable to find the way to make it stand alone on one its sides, while listening to ‘That kind of woman’, an early sixties’ song by Burt Bacharach that I thought was inspired by the brilliant Angie Dickinson, the actress performing ‘Feathers’ a main character in ‘Rio Bravo’, while sipping a little Negroni with a dearest Albanian artist devoted to fresco painting, talking about, or better said: discussing the profile of an impossible Left Wing party in 21st Century, 2025
