Yet again, IFEMA MADRID is the leading host of international trade fairs in Spain, with 35 commercial events in 2026

The Official Schedule of International Trade Fairs 2026, approved by the Secretary of State for Trade, includes 26 events organised by IFEMA MADRID, and a further nine hosted by external operators at its venue, of the total 97 trade shows accredited with this scope nationwide. The Madrid exhibition centre accounts for 36.1% of national international professional fairs this year, followed by Barcelona (24.7%) and Valencia (14.4%). In terms of activity, 2026 will be a strategic year for IFEMA MADRID. The Institution’s fair schedule for the year includes 72 fairs (46 organised by IFEMA and 26 external fairs), 20 congresses and four fairs outside Spain, as well as 15 indoor leisure events. Added to this is the staging of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, MADRING, next September.

IFEMA MADRID once again confirms its leadership in hosting international trade fairs in Spain. This is set out in the Official Schedule of International Trade Fairs for 2026, approved by the Secretary of State for Trade of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise and published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), which includes 26 professional events of this scope organised by IFEMA MADRID, plus a further nine held by external operators at the venue. This means that 35 international exhibitions will take place in the institution’s halls in 2026, 20% more than the previous year.

As shown in the approved official schedule, which lists a total of 97 trade shows nationwide, this year Madrid accounts for 36.1% of the international trade fair market, followed by Barcelona (24.7%), Valencia (14.4%), Bilbao+Barakaldo (5.2%), Seville, Ourense, Pontevedra — including Silleda and Vigo — (3.1%), Málaga, Valladolid, Vigo, Zaragoza and Elche (2.1%) and Lleida (1%).

According to José Vicente de los Mozos, President of IFEMA MADRID’s Executive Committee, "It is a great pleasure for IFEMA MADRID to once again lead Spain’s schedule of international trade fairs." “A successful position that also reflects the international prestige enjoyed by our Institution, founded on the organisation of major trade fairs that are leaders in their respective global sectors — such as FITUR in tourism and FRUIT ATTRACTION in agri‑food — together with other fairs like ARCO, an unmissable event in the world contemporary art circuit, among others.”

The fairs organised by IFEMA MADRID and included in the Official Schedule of International Trade Fairs for 2026 are the recently held PROMOGIFT, FITUR, INTERGIFT, BISUTEX, y MOMAD, and others of great sector and global importance, such as MBFWMADRID, ARCOMADRID, EXPODENTAL, IBERZOO+PROPET, EXPOOPTICA, TECMA, SRR, MADRIDJOYA, FIAA, SICUR, FRUIT ATTRACTION, SMART DOORS, SALON LOOK, VETECO, CONSTRUTEC, SIMO EDUCACIÓN, MATELEC and GENERA.

2026 is a strategic year for IFEMA MADRID

Leadership in the international aspect of the fairs held at IFEMA MADRID in 2026, compared to the rest of Spain, coincides with the significant line-up of activities scheduled by the Institution at its facilities for the year. A strategic year for IFEMA MADRID, which will host 72 fairs (46 organised by IFEMA and 26 external), 20 congresses, 15 indoor leisure events and four fairs outside Spain. Moreover, it is the year of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, MADRING, also organised by IFEMA MADRID, which will have a transformational effect both on Madrid and on the Institution, helping to boost its core business as a fair organiser, congresses and conventions, opening new growth opportunities and improving its international positioning.
