An initiative by Fundación ARCO aimed at promoting art collecting by selling works of art with a set maximum price based on the year of the current edition of ARCO. Pieces are proposed by EU-based galleries taking part in the upcoming edition of the fair through a platform called KOYAC.
KOYAC is a platform selling artworks at a reduced price, created with the aim of giving people the opportunity to get started in quality art collecting within the contemporary art world.
Fundación ARCO goes one step further and takes its #mecomprounaobra #buyyourselfaworkofart initiative to the digital world. From November, members of the public can buy artworks priced at less than 2,020 euros from galleries on KOYAC and at a physical stand at the fair.
With the desire to bring the work of contemporary art galleries to the public, Fundación ARCO offers a series of tours of the galleries of different cities, both at the start of the art season and during the year. The tours take place in cities such as Madrid in January and September, Barcelona as part of Gallery Weekend Barcelona, Seville in October, Valencia during the Valencia Open, Mallorca in parallel with the Nit del Art and Lisbon. In addition, for the upcoming editions in September in Madrid, the organisation of the event will expand the public attendance capacity.
With ARCO GalleryWalk, Fundación ARCO helps those of the public interested in contemporary art to get a better idea of the work done between galleries and artists, the exhibitions in each space visited and first-hand knowledge of current art creation.
Between February and December, Fundación ARCO organises a series of private visits to exhibitions and centres in Madrid for the Amigos ARCO. Once a month these visits allow appreciation in private of the most important contemporary art exhibitions and activities in the city. The tour is organised according to the exhibition calendar of Madrid.
