UNICA bets on its mini fresh washed and cut snacks, combined with healthy dips
Vegetable vending, red fruits, purple broccoli or compostable packaging are some of the new products that will be presented this year at Fruit Attraction.
UNICA will attend Fruit Attraction with a wide range of new products that reflect its commitment to innovation and to finding practical and healthy solutions to the needs of its customers thanks, in part, to the boost given in recent months to its fresh-cut plant.
A high percentage of European consumers would buy more fruit and vegetables if they were available in snack format. This is why UNICA is betting on its mini fresh snacks (washed and cut, ready to eat), ideal for combining with vegetable spreads, another growing trend. For the moment, the references that will be on display at the fair will be carrot sticks, cucumber snack, cherry tomato, Sweet Palermo bell pepper, Crü sweet raw zucchini and the first purple broccoli sprout, Redi.
In the first phase, UNICA will launch tzatziki dips (yogurt and cucumber) and chickpea hummus to combine with snacks in ready-to-eat formats. This project is the result of collaboration with UNICA's partner, Vegetales Línea Verde, through its company Productos Naturales de la Vega, Naturvega.
As a disruptive element, the concept of snacking in UNICA's healthy vending machine is brought to the fair, with the idea of implementing it in schools, hospitals and health centers and thus, it serves to highlight the saturation of unhealthy products that are usually consumed in these environments. In addition to health, sustainability is also key, an area in which UNICA has been working for years. Hence the packaging of these washed and ready-to-eat snacks is OK Compost HOME (biodegradable), in the case of the bags, and rPET, for the cups.
Within the snacking line, through the MyCubies® cucumber snack club, UNICA has a partnership with Minions, to capture the attention of a younger audience and a series of dynamic actions are planned at the fair stand for its promotion.
Variety and the development of new products as a result of constant innovation are a key pillar of UNICA's philosophy. In this edition, differential products such as Wabi-Sabi tomato, unusual in terms of texture and flavor, Little Planet melon, fruity and very juicy, or Sweet Palermo Chocolate bell pepper will be presented.
In line with the upward trend in the consumption of superfoods, visitors to the UNICA stand will be able to learn about the latest developments in red fruits (strawberries, blueberries and raspberries), thanks to the recent incorporation of the Huelva-based cooperative Bonafrú.
UNICA invites you to visit its stand at Fruit Attraction from October 4 to 6 (9D02).
