Organised by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, the 14th edition will be held from 4th to 6th October, with participation figures similar to those of 2019, and an expected 1,800 exhibiting companies from 52 countries.

The Regional Government of Andalusia will be the Guest Region at Fruit Attraction 2022, which is organised by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX and will be held from 4th to 6th October. This role will be an important opportunity and an excellent chance to promote the Andalusian region as a world leader for fruit and vegetables.

The Guest Region is a figure that will appear for the first time in this edition of Fruit Attraction, and it will be maintained in subsequent editions, with the aim of reinforcing the visibility of the different autonomous communities and above all to show the diversity of Spanish production.  The Guest Region role establishes a wide field of joint action in the most significant promotional and communication areas of this important fruit and vegetable industry event. In doing so, the Regional Government of Andalusia will take on an important role and strategic visibility in this year's edition, promoting the wealth of fruit and vegetables in all its provinces and the extraordinary quality of its produce to the whole world.

The Guest Region collaboration also contributes to creating a close link with Fruit Attraction, which will allow this Community, which has long been an established participant in the Fair, to take even more advantage and to capitalize on the magnificent promotional potential of this global event. It will also allow the community to take part in an amazing display to celebrate the event that will be internationally projected from the city of Madrid for three days under the symbolic slogan "Proud to be Fruit Attraction".

All of this in a very special edition which is expected to achieve similar participation figures to 2019, with around 1,800 exhibiting companies from 52 countries, 55,000 square metres of fruit and vegetable produce on offer and 80,000 professionals from 130 countries.

Most Fruit Attraction participants continue to be domestic, with the presence of practically all of Spain's fruit and vegetable producing autonomous communities. This ratifies the industry's confidence in Fruit Attraction, whose success lies mainly in the great interest in the Spanish fruit and vegetable market for international sales, precisely in a key month for campaign planning.

For its part, international participation from 52 countries grows every year, which effectively confirms Fruit Attraction as a key trade event for production, marketing and distribution worldwide. In addition to the strong European participation, such as France, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Portugal, Poland and Germany, there will also be group participations from Serbia and Albania, and other countries such as Colombia, the United States, Korea, Peru, Chile, South Africa and India, and an increase in African participation, especially from Kenya, Guinea and the Ivory Coast.

The perfect context for the Regional Government of Andalusia to star as Fruit Attraction 2022’s Guest Region, a community that is already a world leader in fruit and vegetable production. This will be an exceptional setting for the community to open new avenues for expansion and take advantage of business opportunities in other markets.

According to data from the Customs and Excise Department, processed by FEPEX, Andalusia remained Spain's leading exporter in 2021, with 4.5 million tonnes, 1% more than the previous year, at a value of €6,052 million (+7%). In the first four months of 2022, the region recorded 1.7 million tonnes, 3% less than in the first four months of 2021, at a value of €3,144 million (+12%).
