Special publication “the shore, the tide, the current: an oceanic Caribbean” – by UNDERBAU
The sea, as an ocean, presupposes a connection between distant shores. The nautical cartography of the Atlantic Ocean and its graphic elements are the central referents for this publication's identity.
Through the concepts of connection, renewal, fluidity and movement present in the shore, the tide, the current: an oceanic Caribbean, we build a link between language and its graphic representation. The use of a deep blue colour for the waters of the Atlantic, the holographic printing used to evoke liquids and fluids, alongside the spaced serif font - combined with a grid inspired by cartography - sketch out the pages of this publication as a dynamic, reflective and constantly changing space. It's an outward-looking mirror with which to look at oneself.
