MMBFWMadrid to debut an area dedicated to craftsmanship applied to fashion

This new specialised space within the Cibelespacio of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid will showcase the presence of Loewe, Castañer, Sybilla, and SACo, the Sociedad Artesanía Contemporánea (Spanish Association of Contemporary Craft), successfully positioning themselves as major icons of high craftsmanship and examples of global success.
The fashion event continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability, cultural identity, and innovation by promoting artisanal crafts.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, the premier platform for Spanish fashion, is set to début a pioneering area dedicated to Contemporary Craftsmanship at the next edition. This new space reaffirms the enduring strength of traditional crafts as a creative force and a strategic vision for the future of the fashion industry.
A dynamic environment to explore craftsmanship applied to design.
Located in the Cibelespacio, in Hall 14.1 at IFEMA MADRID, this new route will feature iconic houses such as Loewe, Castañer, Sybilla, and SACo (Spanish Association of Contemporary Craft). The area is conceived as an experience space, featuring live demonstrations, presentations, and interactive proposals that will showcase the richness of crafts such as embroidery, leatherwork, espadrille-making, and basketry, highlighting their influence on fashion creation.
Spain: fashion and craftsmanship, a shared identity
With this initiative, MBFWMadrid is reaffirming its role as an international ambassador for Spanish talent, emphasising craftsmanship as a living heritage that bridges past and present, tradition and innovation. It will be evident that contemporary craftsmanship not only defines Spain’s cultural identity within fashion but also promotes a more conscious, sustainable, and consumer-oriented approach to creation.
Beyond the exhibition, this space aims to become a hub for collaboration among artisans, designers, brands, and media, enhancing the visibility of craftwork and opening new opportunities for international projection.
The focus will be on highlighting their contribution to the cultural identity of fashion, fostering a more conscious relationship between creation, tradition, and consumption. This underscores MBFWMadrid's commitment to championing a more inclusive, responsible fashion that is connected to its territory and the great value this brings.
