BUJ Studio is an experimental fashion firm founded and directed by Raquel Buj. She is a fashion designer, architect and artist. Her studio is specialized in fashion and architecture searching for new horizons between them. Her team work is conceived as a laboratory that explores the intersection of both disciplines from the concept and the materiality. They understand both disciplines as designed skins or envelopes where fashion is the closest to the body. Her studio works with a wide typology of materials rescued from other fields and manipulate them meticulously combining artisan work and digital technologies creating unique pieces that express new materialities for a new contemporaneity.

She has received several awards and recognizitions in both fields. Previously, co-founding Zap& Buj, together with Elena Zapico, they were awarded with the Samsung Ego Innovation Project (2017) at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. In 2018 y 2019 they were selected at Vogue WHO´S ON NEXT and received the Rearch and Desing mention at the Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño BID 19 (2019). They were again selected to present their next collection at EGO MBFWM. Their last work together is called “Imaginé cinco cuerpos y ninguno era el mío” was created in collaboration with the performer Janet Novás. It joined together fashion, dance and scenography and was presented at the art and culture festival at Veranos de la Villa, july 2019.  Their pieces have been exhibited in many places such as the Bienal Americana de Diseño Emergente (Matadero, Madrid 2019), collective exhibition  “Paramétricas” at gallery  2B space to be, Moneo-Brock (Madrid 2019) and  Open Studio “Design &Art” Acdo at  Madrid Design Fest 2020.
