IBERZOO+PROPET, the Pet Industry International Trade Fair organised by IFEMA MADRID and sponsored by AMVAC and AEDPAC, has brought together its Organising Committee, chaired by the Madrid Association of Pet Veterinarians and the Spanish Association of the Pet Sector Industry and Commerce and which includes among its members vocals from these companies: ANFAC, ARTERO, the Madrid City Hall, the Community of Madrid, DINGONATURA, ELANCO, HILL´S PET NUTRITION ESPAÑA, S.L., JUPER, MSD Animal Health, PROGENEX, Royal Canin, VET+I, VETERINDUSTRIA as well as the trade fair management for IFEMA MADRID. Between them they have agreed on the basic lines for the upcoming 2022 edition, which will highlight the return of the industry's professional community.

The creation of this committee reinforces various key elements such as sustainability, both in animal feed and in cosmetic products. It promotes the use of Artificial Intelligence applied to veterinarian healthcare, tools that are already being developed by AMVAC and Vet+I, and aims to promote a full programme of training and professional activities that reaffirm the trade fair’s commitment to the sector as a leading platform in Spain.

With data in hand, this is a key event for the veterinarian and animal world, both in Spain and in Latin America. The last edition that was held brought 200 direct exhibitors, 400 participating companies and over 55 countries. These figures consolidate this trade fair as one of the industry’s main annual events at home and abroad. This trade fair for professionals in the veterinarian industry and food sector, pet products, accessories, styling, grooming and wellbeing, received 12,620 visitors, who were witness to the latest news, techniques and success stories in the industry.

This time the focus will be on various themes, as decided by the new committee, starting with the development of the employability area, along with Empleo Vet, who will set up new activities to support quality employment in the industry, along with AMVAC. There will also be activities to promote the commercial channel with the AEDPAC Forum. Other reference activities at IBERZOO+PROPET are those focusing on dog grooming, offered by Artero. The event will also offer space for new projects and products that are already ongoing, within innovation, with the aim to improve animal health and welfare, such as feeding, tools or cosmetics.

Another new element is that it will favour export business for companies located in Portugal and Latin America, thanks to various areas, seminars or B2B meetings where the sector will be promoted. A return to an in-person event also means that Vetmadrid, organised by AMVAC, will hold its first professional meeting in 2022, within the framework of the trade fair.

The 2022 edition will provide continuity to the activities that were held in previous in-person editions. The Industry Afternoon will hand out Awards to the major celebrities, companies or institutions in animal health and welfare, and new reports will be presented, analysing relevant data for the sector.

IBERZOO+PROPET LIVEConnect: A global community, 365 days a year

This new edition aims to provide continuity for the digital platform IBERZOO+PROPET LIVEConnect that was first launched in 2021 and brought together over 2,000 professionals from around the world. It is an opportunity to share experiences, knowledge and to promote business relations in the sector, both in Spain and Latin America. It will also be a feature that is available throughout the year to contribute to networking among industry professionals.
