The Fair will be held from 11 to 13 March 2026, at IFEMA MADRID

More than 1,200 companies on 300 stands have already confirmed they will participate, which is more than 15% than the previous record.

Spain and Portugal's benchmark International Fair for Pet Professionals, Iberzoo Propet 2026, will take place for the 17th time from 11 to 13 March at IFEMA MADRID. A record number of participants will be there, reflecting the booming pet care industry.

Two months before the fair begins, more than 1,200 companies with more than 300 stands have confirmed their attendance, at a record-breaking edition that will be 15% larger than last year’s event. The health of the industry has also led to significant growth in the offerings of international manufacturers, with more than 80 stands.

The positive expectations for the upcoming edition of Iberzoo Propet 2026 reflect the reality of a growing sector. In Spain, nearly 50% of households have a pet (over 28 million animals, including 9.4 million dogs and 5.9 million registered cats); meanwhile, globally, according to estimates from Bloomberg Intelligence, the pet care industry could grow by between 5% and 6% annually in the coming years.

On the other hand, the Spanish sector generates around €6 billion in revenue, encompasses more than 5,000 retail stores and 7,000 veterinary clinics and service companies, and creates approximately 75,000 direct jobs and up to 300,000 indirect jobs. This growth is driven by a greater social sensitivity towards animal welfare and the consolidation of a pet-friendly culture in our country.

The profile of the visitor to Iberzoo Propet is still predominantly that of specialised retailers and veterinarians, although due to the diversification stemming from the increasing market demand, other professionals with interests in this sector have been joining recently In fact, the pet care culture is expanding, with significant business presence.

Iberzoo Propet offers a distinct fair model due to its coincidence with the VETMADRID Veterinary Congress (which brings together more than 2,000 healthcare professionals), also attracting suppliers of materials, equipment, and services for veterinary clinics. In this way, it manages to bring together the entire value chain (veterinarians, laboratories, pet food, pharmaceuticals, accessories, grooming, distribution, and services) in one space, distinguishing it from other events in the sector in Europe.
