The trade fair is stepping up its marketing efforts ahead of its inaugural event, to be held from 16 to 18 February 2027, at which it expects to welcome more than 50,000 visitors, with a 30% international attendance rate.

Anuga Select Ibérica, the trade fair organised by IFEMA MADRID and  Koelnmesse, has held the first meeting of its Organising Committee, a working body that brings together leading organisations, companies and representative associations from across the entire food and drink industry value chain, with the aim of contributing to the strategic development of the trade fair and consolidating its position as the leading professional meeting point for the industry in the Iberian Peninsula.

During the meeting, the Organising Committee for the 2027 edition was officially constituted and the main areas of focus for the next edition were presented. Members were given a detailed insight into the Anuga brand’s international positioning, the value proposition of Anuga Select Ibérica, and the commercial and organisational progress of the project, including developments in marketing, the action plan and the trade fair’s communication strategy.

The Anuga Select Ibérica Organising Committee includes representatives from leading industry organisations and companies, including ANICE, Ahumados Domínguez, ANGED, bonÀrea, Cajamar, CEOPPAN, Ecovalia, Frozen España, García Baquero, Handtmann, ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, Koelnmesse, SGM Ferias & Servicios and Vall Companys.

Excellent commercial momentum

The first edition of Anuga Select Ibérica continues to consolidate its position as one of the leading business platforms for the food industry in the Iberian Peninsula and is heading into its next edition with considerable commercial activity. The trade fair has already confirmed more than 500 direct exhibitors and 19 group stands from over 23 countries, reflecting the growing interest the event is generating amongst manufacturers, distributors, importers and professionals across the entire value chain of the food and drink industry.

Of particular note is the inclusion, in recent months, of exhibiting companies from markets such as South Korea, Belgium, Slovenia and Japan, which further reinforces the exhibition’s international reach and broadens business opportunities for attending professionals.

The growth of the trade fair will also result in a larger exhibition area, with nearly 50,000 square metres of exhibition space spread across four halls at IFEMA MADRID. This expansion will enable the organisation to meet the high demand from the business sector and enhance specialisation across its various areas, thereby consolidating a model that brings together the entire food industry in the same professional space.

Among the sectors playing a leading role is that of meat, with Meat Attraction, which is featuring around 200 exhibiting companies and will once again establish itself as one of the main attractions for the meat industry. Furthermore, Bakery & Ice Cream Attraction has over 100 exhibitors, confirming the dynamism of the bakery, pastry-making and ice-cream sectors. Together, these figures highlight the positive commercial performance of Anuga Select Ibérica, which continues to strengthen its role as a strategic platform for internationalisation, innovation and the development of new business opportunities in the food industry.

Anuga Select Ibérica is taking place from 16 to 18 February 2027 at IFEMA MADRID, bringing together a wide range of exhibitors, specialist content, spaces for professional networking and new business opportunities for the entire food value chain.
