BICA (Bakery and Ice Cream Attraction), February 16–18, 2027, at IFEMA Madrid as part of Anuga Select Ibérica

BICA (Bakery and Ice Cream Attraction), taking place from 16 to 18 February 2027 at IFEMA Madrid as part of Anuga Select Ibérica, is to play host to the official launch of the Guía Arte Heladero – Mejores Heladerías de España 2027-2028.

Driven by the professional ice-cream magazine *Arte Heladero*, this biennial guide was created with the aim of filling a long-standing gap in the recognition of Spanish ice-cream-making, offering a specialised, rigorous and independent perspective. At the same time, it aims to become a key reference tool for consumers, helping them to identify establishments that stand out for their character, their working philosophy and their firm commitment to excellence.

The selection of ice-cream parlours will be carried out using a rigorous assessment system that will take into account criteria such as the sales area, the use of raw ingredients, the consistency of the range on offer and the presentation of the ice cream in the display cabinet, among others. This process will also be guided by a committee comprising more than twenty leading professionals from various fields within the ice-cream, patisserie, gastronomy and confectionery industries.

Although extensive research is currently underway, an application form has been made available so that any Spanish ice-cream parlour that stands out for its craftsmanship, the quality of its products and its own unique identity can apply to be included in this first edition.

Official award and recognition for the Best Ice Cream Parlour 2027–2028

The ice-cream parlours featured in the guide will receive an official badge which they can display at their outlets as a mark of excellence. Furthermore, one of them will be named Ice Cream Parlour of the Year 2027–2028.

The choice of BICA – the new meeting place for the artisan bakery, patisserie and ice-cream sectors – as the venue for the guide’s launch will ensure it receives maximum visibility amongst professionals, manufacturers, distributors, companies, associations and the specialist media within the industry.

Alongside BICA, Anuga Select Ibérica will be rounding off the trade fair in Madrid with a highly varied programme, offering many synergies and common themes across the other trade fairs included: Meat Attraction (meat industry), Hot drinks, Beverages, Organic, Fine food, Dairy products, Auxiliary industries, Chilled, fresh and frozen products.
