The platform for emerging designers will close MBFWMadrid on March 22 with a day dedicated to innovation, experimentation, and the future vision of Spanish fashion. EGO marked its 20th anniversary with a special event conceived as a reflection on the future of fashion, the success stories born from the platform, and a new era of design.

On Sunday, March 22, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid will dedicate its final day to EGO, the platform that for two decades has served as the definitive showcase for Spain’s emerging fashion talent. After five days of runway shows, this edition will close by celebrating the most innovative creativity, sustainability, experimentation, and personal vision of the designers shaping the future of fashion.

Organised by IFEMA MADRID with the support of Madrid City Council, the runway will draw the curtain in Pavilion 14.1 of the IFEMA Madrid exhibition centre, presenting the work of ten emerging designers whose collections are deeply personal and disruptive, offering diverse perspectives on contemporary design.

This season’s lineup includes Adrià Egea with his experimental minimalism; Antonio Acuario, who fuses artisanal techniques with contemporary language; Bonet, reinterpreting classic codes; Caducifolium, focused on sustainable fashion; Eaftimos, exploring form and colour; Maikarfi, with versatile, modern proposals; Maison Gracen, delving into emotional storytelling through fashion; Mericusan, reinventing tailoring; Patequilux, offering an intimate reflection on inner growth; and Pringa, delivering a bold and experimental approach. Each designer brings a singular vision, reflecting the diversity, innovation and creative risk that have defined EGO throughout its twenty-year history

The day thus becomes a window into the future of Spanish fashion, reinforcing MBFWMadrid’s role as an incubator for new talent and emerging trends. The combination of creativity, excellence and a strong commitment to sustainability positions EGO as a benchmark for both the industry and audiences, offering a continuous and transformative fashion experience.

This new edition of EGO therefore represents a forward-looking perspective, celebrating twenty years of championing emerging designers while consolidating MBFWMadrid’s reputation as the epicentre of Spanish fashion—where creativity and talent converge to set new trends.

EGO – 20 Years Driving Talent and Business in the Fashion Industry

As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, EGO hosted a series of roundtable discussions yesterday at its partner venue, Galería Canalejas, bringing together designers, innovation experts and leading voices in fashion entrepreneurship.

The event served as a platform to reflect on EGO’s journey, the major brands that have emerged from it, and the future of fashion in a new design era. The first panel, “EGO 20: Voices of Success”, featured designers who launched their careers on the platform and are now established industry figures, including David Catalán (DAVIDCATALAN), María Escoté and Juan Carlos Pajares (JCPajares). Moderated by Andrés Aberasturi, the discussion explored their personal experiences and the impact EGO had on their professional development.

The second panel, “EGO Tech: The New Era of Design”, focused on innovation, new materials and technology applied to fashion, with contributions from Regina Polanco (CEO of Pyratex), Mapi Gracia (Textile R&D Industrial Planner), Rubén Gómez Navarro (winner of the Samsung EGO Innovation Project 2015) and Coro Saldaña. The conversation was moderated by Valentina Suárez-Zuloaga, Creative Director of MBFWMadrid.

The event concluded with “Creating the Future: From Idea to Business”, a discussion centred on entrepreneurship and sustainable business models, featuring Natalia Bengoechea (fashion expert), María Peris (CMO of Ulanka) and Pilar Oráa (Head of PR & Comms at Flabelus), moderated by Charo Izquierdo.

This anniversary celebrates not only twenty years of history, but also forty editions of EGO and the 225 brands that have presented their collections on its runway. Founded in 2006 by Andrés Aberasturi with the mission of shaping the future of fashion and discovering new national talent, EGO has established itself as a key space for experimentation, innovation and professional projection. It is the launchpad for designers who are now industry references, including María Escoté, JCPajares, Juan Vidal, Moisés Nieto, Pepa Salazar, Dominnico, David Catalán, Nicolás Montenegro and Pablo Erroz.

Major Brand Support for the Fashion Industry

Once again, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid will be backed by the participation of a wide range of companies as sponsors, demonstrating their unwavering support for fashion. This edition continues to count on Mercedes-Benz as its main sponsor, while welcoming NARS as a new main sponsor and official makeup partner. La Casa de las Carcasas and the Community of Madrid also join as sponsors, alongside collaborators including the Provincial Council of Almería, Tequila 1800, UDIT, Schweppes and Málaga de Moda.
