• The next edition of MBFWMadrid adds Isabel Sanchis, Ulises Mérida and Jorge Vázquez to its list of confirmed designers

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid continues to add leading exponents of Spanish design to the official calendar of its forthcoming edition, which will be held from 13 to 17 September at the Recinto Ferial de IFEMA MADRID and at various locations around the city.

On this occasion, the confirmed designers are noted for the perfection of each handcrafted piece they create with the utmost care and attention to detail. We refer to Ulises Mérida, Isabel Sanchis and Jorge Vázquez. The three of them, together with Teresa Helbig, have received the L'Oréal Paris Award for the Best Collection in different editions. The award has been running for 47 years and L'Oréal Paris has been the main sponsor of the MBFWM catwalk for the past 24 years.

Isabel Sanchis won the award at the last edition held last February. The designer, who always creates her collection alongside her daughter Paula, will be returning to MBFWMadrid after having participated in seven editions following her debut in 2020. Ulises Mérida returns to the MBFWMadrid catwalk after his 'Recreo' collection for the Spring Summer 2023 season won the L'Oréal Paris Award for Best Collection in September 2022. This will be the 14th edition in which the designer from Toledo will take part after presenting his collection for the first time in 2014.

Finally, Jorge Vázquez has received the award on three occasions (in September 2004, February 2016 and July 2018), always being recognised for the exquisite nature of each of his proposals and his ability to raise the concept of creation to a higher level. Teresa Helbig is also on this list. The Catalan designer, who recently received the National Fashion Design Prize - awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture - has received this award three times from L'Oréal Paris (September 2010, February 2012 and January 2019).

MBFWMadrid will enjoy the support of fifteen companies that lead the way in each of their respective sectors: The main sponsors are Mercedes-Benz, L’Oréal Paris and Inditex. In addition, Allianz, Iberia, Multiópticas, Galería Canalejas, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid and GHD will participate as sponsors; and Dorsia Clínicas, AEG, the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Mar de Frades, Martin Miller's Gin, Málaga de Moda together with the corporate identity of the Provincial Council of Malaga, UDIT Design and Technology University, Rowenta, Schweppes Selection will take part as collaborators and Solán de Cabras will be the official water supplier.
