About De la Cierva & Nicolás

Through Our History De la Cierva & Nicolás was founded in 1988 within the Spanish textile sector, presenting two prêt-à-porter collections per year alongside one bridal and eveningwear collection. From the very beginning, the brand demonstrated a strong international vocation, participating that same year in the “Europeinusa” runway in Miami. Between 1989 and 1993, its collections were presented at Salón Cibeles in Madrid and at the Salon de Prêt-à-Porter Féminin in Paris. From 1993 onwards, the brand became a regular presence at the Semana Internacional de la Moda de Madrid (SIMM). In 2004, it expanded into the bridal sector at Salón Novias España (Barcelona), followed by the Couture Bridal Show in New York. Between 2005 and 2010, the firm showcased its collections at Pasarela Gaudí Novias, Sposaitalia (Milan), and trade fairs such as CPM Moscow and Prêt-à-Porter Paris. In 2010, it received the Premio Mercurio al Comercio awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia. During the following decade, the brand continued presenting its collections at international trade fairs such as Who’s Next (Paris, 2014) and debuted at Pasarela Costura España (2015) with the collection “¿Quieres ser mi esposa?”. In 2016, it participated in Sevilla Fashion Weekend alongside artist Ángel Haro, and in 2017 it received the National Fashion Award PRENAMO for Business Excellence. In 2018, the firm took part in Madrid Bridal Week and strengthened its commercial activity through its two boutiques in Murcia. Its collections and work have been featured in fashion magazines, national and international media outlets, and digital platforms. Designer Dolores Nicolás has also participated as a jury member and speaker at professional fashion events. In 2021, the brand presented “Eclosión” at Atelier Couture at the Palacio de Santoña (Madrid), achieving significant media impact. In 2022, it joined the Valyty platform, consolidating its presence on red carpets and exclusive events such as the Premios Goya, Feroz Awards, Forqué Awards, Ídolo Awards, and the Málaga Film Festival. The year concluded with the collection “Paris est une fête”, showcased in a runway presentation featuring figures such as Carmen Lomana and Teresa de la Cierva, and dressing actress Toni Acosta at the Forqué Awards. Throughout 2023, the brand maintained its presence at major cultural events including the Platino and Feroz Awards, once again dressing actresses for the Goya Awards. In 2024, the house presented two key collections: Flores para Rosa, a tribute to the designer’s grandmother Rosa; and Lachryma, its debut at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, marking the first step in the generational transition of the brand and earning a nomination for the L’Oréal Paris Award for Best Collection. The year concluded with the presentation of Lachryma at Pasarela Campoamor (Oviedo). In Spring 2025, the brand unveiled Éter at Atelier Couture (Real Fábrica de Tapices, Madrid), reaffirming the house’s renewed creative direction. In September of the same year, the trilogy was completed with Ímpetu, presented once again at the MercedesBenz Fashion Week Madrid, consolidating a powerful creative narrative exploring emotion, identity, and inner strength as transformative forces. In December 2025, the firm presented an exclusive design at Meet Fashion Región de Murcia, held at the Museo del Traje and hosted by Ane Igartiburu. This initiative by the Region of Murcia, alongside other Murcian designers, reinterpreted the essence of the region through exclusive creations. In January 2026, Dolores Nicolás presented an award in the fashion category at the Premios Alfonso Décimo, reaffirming the institutional recognition of the brand’s trajectory. Currently, De la Cierva & Nicolás continues to work on upcoming galas and red carpets, including the Premios Goya and other major national events, while preparing a fashion film to be presented in March 2026 within the framework of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, opening a new chapter in its creative evolution
