Seipasa, a Spanish company specialising in the development and manufacture of biopesticides, biostimulants and fertilizers for agriculture, has obtained approval to register 3 new phytosanitary products in Mexico, thereby reinforcing its presence within the crop protection sector in this country.

Seipasa has obtained an extension for its Pirecris bioinsecticide against thrips, chilli weevil and ash aphids. The product, which already had approval for treatment against aphids and whiteflies for a wide range of horticultural crops, now has new approved uses against pests in crops such as chilli peppers, vine and table grapes, berries, broccoli and cauliflower, among others.
Pirecris is a bioinsecticide with a powerful shock effect for pest control. It is developed from natural pyrethrin in an exclusive formulation thanks to the perfect balance of PI and PII molecules, which provide maximum insecticidal efficacy both in the open field and in the greenhouse.
Seipasa has also announced the new phytosanitary approval for Seipa System in Mexico, a botanical-based systemic biofungicide for the prevention and control of high-impact diseases in vegetables, vine fruits and berries, among other crops. Seipa System provides a triple defence against fungi in the plant: it promotes natural defences and strengthens the leaf epidermis, while inactivating the microbial enzymes of the phytopathogenic fungus.
Seican: triple mode of action
Likewise, the Spanish company has expanded its catalogue of approved products with Seican, a botanical-based acaricide, fungicide and insecticide with a broad spectrum and a powerful shock effect for the control of pests and diseases in horticultural crops, cucurbits, berries, citrus and avocado, among others. In addition to Mexico, the product also has phytosanitary approval in the USA.
For Carlos Castro, commercial director with Seipasa in Mexico, the new phytosanitary approval reinforces the company's presence and catalogue of solutions in Mexico.
“Seipasa's commitment is to make effective, affordable and sustainable solutions for crop treatment available to producers. Our strategy is to strengthen our position in the Mexican market based on the quality guarantee provided by phytosanitary approval. We are talking about widely tested products with a long international history. These are references that are being used in agricultural systems in different parts of the world. All this provides us with valuable information and experience that is fed back into the continuous improvement of the efficacy and performance of the product in the field”, said Castro.
Pirecris, Seipa System and Seican are OMRI certified for use in organic farming.
