With a group of approximately 600 growers, the company has mainly specialized in three products: Kiwis (annually 27.000 tons), Cherries (annually 11.000 tons) and Grapes (annually 1.500 tons). With this dynamic, the company is ranked as the largest kiwi/cherry packer in Greece and among the largest respective companies in Europe.

The Proto brand has been well-aware in a series of markets worldwide, including the USA, Canada, Brazil, India, several Asian countries, the Middle East, and various European countries. As regard Kiwi, the company operates in a total area of 8.5 Has (3.2 Has covered), including a packing house, and cooling rooms under control atmosphere conditions. With this infrastructure and while having as main objective to supply its customers with products of high quality, the company has a total kiwi packing capacity of 35 tons/hour, and a storing capacity of 25.000 tons.
Proto is not only a kiwi packer, since in the last 5 years has vertically integrated its kiwi production. The company currently cultivates an area of 72 Has, while the next 5 years’ plan targets up to 100 Has.The company currently works only with green kiwi. But under the overall close collaboration with Zespri, has already entered the yellow-fleshed Zespri Sungold cultivation. A Consolidation Area / Precooling Facility in the main Cherry producing area in Greece and a packing facility with a 20 lane electronic sorter, that gives a packing capacity of 12 tons/hr. With such infrastructure, growers harvest the cherries on Day 1 and the packed cherries are ready to dispatch on Day 2. Under these conditions, both customers and the final consumer, enjoy the freshness of cherries that have significantly high self-life.
