The fashion event acknowledges the career, legacy, and international projection of one of the great names in Spanish fashion, at a key time for the industry and for the brand, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The next Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid will be held from 14 to 19 September.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, the fashion event organised by IFEMA MADRID with support from Madrid City Council, is recognising the achievements of Hannibal Laguna with the National Designer Prize. The accolade will coincide with the brand's 40th anniversary, thus highlighting one of the most solid, coherent, and elegant careers in contemporary Spanish fashion.

With four decades in business, Hannibal Laguna is an undisputed leader in Spanish design, outstanding for its vision, mastery of the craft, and ability to reinterpret designer fashion through collections that embody a unique language. The prize acknowledges a career marked by creative excellence and consistency, as well as a sustained contribution to the positioning of Spanish fashion both within and beyond our borders.

With this recognition, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid not only celebrates an exceptional career, but also underscores the cultural value of fashion as a creative industry, an economic driver and a form of artistic expression.

The next MBFWMadrid SS26, to be held from 14 to 19 September, will continue to move in this direction, strengthening its dialogue with the city and its international positioning, while paying tribute to the figures who have shaped the history of Spanish fashion.

The National Designer Award was created in 2025 to mark the 40th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, organised by IFEMA MADRID and the Madrid City Council, and to recognise the designers defining the present and future of Spanish fashion. Palomo and Juan Vidal have already received this award.
