MBFWMadrid renews its EGO Committee with top names in fashion for the 20th anniversary
At the coming edition in March, the launchpad for emerging fashion will have been driving promising figures in Spanish fashion for 20 years. The initiative has already received 50% more applications than the previous edition.
At an event held at the Hotel Bless, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid brought together the new professionals who will make up the EGO Committee, the team responsible for selecting and supporting emerging talents. This team comprises creatives, stylists, artistic directors, and leaders of innovative projects in the industry.
To mark such a special year, the EGO Committee has accepted a new challenge, namely, to design special actions to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the platform, taking a leap forward in the evolution of this key project within MBFWMadrid, with the goal of celebrating its trajectory and updating formats to be even more useful, relevant and efficient in today’s fashion industry.
Throughout its 20-year history, EGO has established itself as a real launchpad for talent and a significant project for the fashion industry, as the most prestigious showcase for designers with a high profile on the national and international scenes, such as Palomo, María Escoté, Dominnico, JC Pajares, and Juan Vidal among others.
The members of the Committee are Abraham Ortuño Pérez, creative director at Abra; Alejandra Muñoz, Brand & Communication Director for PYRATEX®; Ariel Vidal, stylist and creative consultant; Ernesto Naranjo, creative director at Ernesto Naranjo; Isabel Uribe, director of SUOT Studio; Maria Peris, CMO at ULANKA and Brand Expert; Marta Serras, Art Director and Graphic Designer; Martina Merry, creative director of Cold Culture; Andrés Varela, CEO of Cold Culture; Raquel Peláez, assistant director at S Moda; Robber Rodríguez, President of Can Rico Studio; Rytas Matuliauskas and Antonio López Delgado Casting directors at Sky Division. They are joined by Asier Labarga, director of MBFWMadrid; Valentina Suárez-Zuloaga, creative director of MBFWMadrid; Tatiana Gómez, creative coordinator of MBFWMadrid; and Rubén Gómez, creative director, adviser and scout for EGO. This inaugural meeting was also attended by Andrés Aberasturi, Gema Agudo and Carlos Caballero, from Pelonio.
