About Apolineo Studio
Javier Comesaña (Vigo, 2000) translates his background in Fine Arts into "wearable art" through experimentation with volume and textile manipulation. After training in pattern making and garment construction—and earning a Master’s degree in Fashion Design from the Istituto Europeo di Design—he founded APOLINEO STUDIO in 2026. This project challenges the boundaries between art and fashion, generating concepts that explore identity, gender, and gender non-conformity, while championing craftsmanship.

HERDANZA Collection
HERDANZA (derived from the Galician word for "heritage") is a fashion project that explores the tension between precariousness and preciousness.
The collection stems from the convergence of two biographical inspirations: the figure of my mother—a professional dancer whose rehearsals (often grueling, held in damp studios and precarious settings) I witnessed throughout my childhood—and the shellfish gatherers of my native Galicia. These women, brave in the face of the tides, were figures I used to watch alongside my grandfather Eladio, a retired sailor.
Both the world of dance and life at sea are defined by great precariousness, contrasting sharply with the apparent luxury of grand theaters and sumptuous seafood feasts. This contrast is embodied in the garments of this collection.
To reflect this reality of contrasts, HERDANZA garments combine brilliant artisanal embroidery with frayed elements, and Swarovski crystals with humble materials—such as felt, second-hand t-shirts, and wool knitwear—referencing Galicia’s raw materials and livestock farming traditions.
HERDANZA is a project that speaks of tensions, paradoxes, and the exhaustingly beautiful nature of the creative process.
