Fruit Attraction 2026 generated 419 million euros and created more than 3,100 jobs in Madrid during its record-breaking edition
Fruit Attraction 2026 has generated an economic impact of 419 million euros in Madrid, representing a 3% increase compared with 2025, and has helped to safeguard 3,106 jobs in the region. These figures reinforce the role of Fruit Attraction as a catalyst for the region’s economic and social development.
With just a few hours to go before it closes, the trade fair – organised by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX– managed to attract more than 121,000 professionals from over 150 countries, a record figure that reflects its ability to draw a large audience. It is also worth noting that, on its second day, Fruit Attraction recorded the highest number of visitors of any trade fair ever held at IFEMA MADRID, with over 55,200 attendees – a milestone that confirms the event’s extraordinary growth and international leadership.
According to estimates for this year’s event, Fruit Attraction will have gathered together 2,500 exhibiting companies from 78 countries, occupying 162,000 m² of exhibition space. These figures have a direct impact on the economy of the Madrid region, at the same time as consolidating its leadership and confirming Madrid’s growing importance as the hub of the fruit and vegetable business.
Of the total of 2,500 exhibitors, domestic exhibitors accounted for 51% of the fair. The presence of all the autonomous fruit and vegetable producing regions reflects Spain’s strength as a world leader in the fruit and vegetable market and confirms the importance of Fruit Attraction as a leading platform for showcasing the country’s production and export capacity on the international stage.
Fruit and vegetables constitute the leading industry of Spanish agriculture, with a value in excess of 21.9 billion euros in 2025, representing 60% of Final Plant Production and 32% of Final Agricultural Production, according to data up to March 2026 from the Sub-Directorate-General for Statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. With an annual output of around 24.64 million tonnes, of which nearly 60% is destined for export, Spain remains the European leader in fruit and vegetable production and exports. Fruit Attraction reinforces this leadership, acting as a strategic meeting point between supply and demand, and as a catalyst for continuing to boost the industry’s international competitiveness.
