EUROPLÁTANO revalidates its IFS Food certification in La Palma and extends it to the Tenerife South plant.
Europlátano, the only banana company in the Canary Islands to have the IFS Food seal, reaffirms its commitment to guaranteeing the quality and food safety of its products.
After the most difficult year in the sector's history, the company has demonstrated its clear commitment to differentiation through quality; in the most complicated circumstances, it has been able to certify itself under one of the most rigorous quality and food safety standards, IFS Food.
Internally, this complex certification assesses all aspects of the organisation: management responsibility; quality and food safety management systems; resource management; planning and production process; measurement, analysis and improvement; and food defence. One of the most outstanding characteristics of IFS Food, very much in line with Europlátano's values, is the requirement for continuous improvement: revalidation of the certification requires a better score each year, which forces the team to work to improve at each audit.
From a commercial point of view, it brings us closer to our customers, creating a bond of trust and transparency, as both the processes and the fruit along the entire supply chain are certified by this worldwide standard. As a result, our bananas from Gabaceras are guaranteed quality and safety both in the cultivation and in the packing process.
