CUNA de PLATERO returns to Fruit Attraction as a supplier of red fruits all year round.
- The cooperative will boost the presence of its blueberry 'Cupla', after a successful season. - It is researching its own blackberry variety to complete the range of red fruits all year round.
The Cuna de Platero cooperative returns to Fruit Attraction as a supplier of red fruits throughout the year, positioning itself as a "Global Berry Partner". This is possible thanks to the varietal study and the commitment to also produce strawberries in Avila during the summer season, among other actions.
"We seek to guarantee our clients the availability of fruit and its quality", explained the president of Cuna de Platero, Francisco José Gómez.
One of the cooperative's commitments in recent seasons has been related to its own R+D+i, from which the 'Cupla' blueberry was obtained, which will once again be one of the protagonists of the fair after a successful season Despite the slowdown that has characterised the season due to the weather, "our Cupla variety has performed excellently, maintaining its sizes (in its case, "L") right to the end", Gómez indicated.
Cupla is an early variety, easy to harvest, with not very demanding water and fertiliser requirements. It is an early, fresh blueberry, highly appreciated in Europe and in other countries.
It is the first fair after the re-election of Francisco José Gómez as president, who heads the cooperative's Governing Council with a team of 11 people, 9 of whom have been renewed for a further three years. "This trade fair is very important for all the people who make up Cuna de Platero, as it is here and with it that we start the new strawberry season in Huelva".
The cooperative, which has been present at all the editions of the fair, celebrating its 15th this year, will be represented in Madrid from 3 to 5 October by its team of professionals, in the field and in the different areas that make it what it is today.
Cuna de Platero will once again be present with a 128 m2 stand (Hall 9, stand 9D06) at Fruit Attraction, consolidating its position as a benchmark for the fruit and vegetable sector. The fair is expected to bring together 1,800 direct exhibiting companies and 90,000 professionals from 137 countries.
