UNICAJA is strengthening its role as a financial partner to the agricultural sector, with solutions designed to meet the sector’s real needs

The agricultural sector is facing a decisive phase. The need for liquidity, the modernisation of farms and adaptation to an increasingly demanding environment (including in environmental terms) shape the day-to-day lives of farmers, livestock breeders and agri-food businesses. In this context, Unicaja is strengthening its role as a financial partner to the agricultural sector, with solutions designed to meet the sector’s real needs.

The bank offers pre-approved loans for intensive crops and aid recipients, as well as special lines of credit designed to address emergency situations. Added to this is solid experience in processing and advancing payments from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), one of the main sources of financial support for agricultural activity. This offering is complemented by a wide range of agricultural insurance products, aimed at protecting farms against climatic and health risks. All this is backed by specialist advice and streamlined processes that facilitate the day-to-day management of farms.

As a concrete example of this commitment, Unicaja has made €1 billion in pre-approved financing available to the sector for intensive crops and the 2026 CAP campaign.

This measure enables professionals to access immediate liquidity to cover the usual costs of each season and plan their activities with greater certainty.

Sustainability is another key pillar of this offering. The bank promotes investments aimed at improving water efficiency, optimising the use of resources and reducing energy consumption, thereby helping to strengthen the competitiveness of farms and move towards more balanced and resilient rural development, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Unicaja’s presence at trade fairs and specialist events, such as Fruit Attraction, the major international event for the fruit and vegetable sector, reflects this closeness to the local area and to professionals. These are spaces for dialogue and listening that are key to continuing to adapt a constantly evolving financial offering, designed to support the agricultural sector at every stage of its activity and contribute to the profitability and sustainability of farms.

In short, Unicaja reaffirms its commitment to the agricultural sector through flexible financing, specialist advice and sustainable solutions, at a crucial time for addressing the CAP, modernising farms and strengthening the future of the primary sector. Unicaja will be at Fruit Attraction at stand 9D03.
