Solidus showcases fibre-based packaging

At the upcoming Fruit Attraction event, Solidus will showcase its packaging solutions for the fruit and vegetable industry at stand 3B25. Among the highlights is its range of retail-ready Futurline packaging, including punnets and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP).

Moisture-resistant punnets offer a fully recyclable solution for products such as mushrooms and soft fruits. They provide optimal protection throughout the entire supply chain, making them ideal for delicate produce. To meet the growing demand, Solidus has recently installed a new punnet machine at its Hoogstraten site (Belgium), further boosting production efficiency.

Solidus' MAP trays offer a recyclable alternative to plastic trays. This well-established packaging method extends the shelf life of fresh foods such as fruit, salads, meat, fish, and ready meals by replacing the air inside the package with a protective gas mixture. The trays can be handled on the same packaging machines as plastic trays, allowing for an easy switch with minimal adjustments.

Solidus will also present its solid board transport packaging

Besides the Futurline packaging solutions, Solidus will also present its solid board transport packaging at Fruit Attraction. These boxes are ideal for cold and humid storage rooms. Moreover, the solid board boxes optimise space during transport, storage and handling, while allowing stable high stacking. Solidus' transport boxes are a sustainable alternative to common polystyrene and plastic crates.

At Fruit Attraction, visitors can learn about Solidus' circular-by-design strategy. Renewable fibres are repeatedly recycled into fibre-based packaging without any loss of performance. In addition to being recyclable, Solidus’ fibre-based solutions are made from over 90% recycled material.
